Today's Millennial Game Valorant

Hi fellow Vicigers! In the realm of first-person shooter (FPS) gaming, Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) seems unrivaled. Valorant is said to be a challenger to the game, which is currently in the closed beta stage. Valorant was developed by Riot Games, the developer behind the popular game, League of Legends (LOL).

Valorant Current Millennial Games

Valorant was announced under the code name Project A in October 2019 and will be released for Windows in the summer of 2020, as reported by CNBC. Why is Valorant paired with CSGO?

This is because of two games FPS is similar in terms of gameplay, which is to duel two teams of five people, plant a bomb or defuse it, eliminate all the opposing team's personnel, and the like. “Valorant pits terrorist and anti-terrorist forces against each other to complete missions, much like the game from Velve.

Apart from being here to challenge CSGO, Valorant is also said to have taken a niche in the related FPS game market, such as Call of Duty from Activision and Rainbow Six Siege from Ubisoft. "Valorant can provide strong competition. It will be interesting to see if this game can be successful globally," said Louise Shorthouse, game analyst at market research firm Omdia commenting on the emergence of Valorant.

Like League of Legends, Valorant can be played for free, while Riot Games monetizes this game through in-app purchases or transactions.

Features and Gameplay

Quoting Polygon, Valorant dueled two teams (5v5), each consisting of five people. Each match has 25 rounds and the team that wins 13 rounds emerges victorious. At the start of each game, players choose a character called an agent who has special abilities. One agent with other agents each has different special abilities.

Main mode games Valorant is like CSGO in that one team attacks and the rest defend. The assault team has bombs that must be planted at several points. The bomb is called Spike. The attacking team must protect the Spike until it explodes, while the defending team must defuse it. Each player only has one 'life' per round.

That is, if all players 'die', it is considered a win for the opposing team. Valorant has started its closed beta stage on April 7 2020. This means that those who are selected during this period can first experience the fun of this game before it is released next summer.
