Once again, bad news has been heard again, after Valve issued an official circular stating that the prestigious TI10 tournament was canceled!

Eits, wait a minute, Valve's intention as the developer of Dota 2 is that TI10 will be canceled in Sweden.

Even though we both know, in less than one and a half months or around the beginning of August 2021, this prestigious elite tournament will be held in Sweden.

Through a news update article on the official Dota 2 website, Valve informs that they plan to move the TI10 location, which was originally in Sweden, to another country that is still in Europe.

What Caused TI10 to Be Canceled in Sweden?

The reason TI10 was canceled in Sweden was because esports was not accepted by the Swedish government as an official sport that could be included in the Swedish sports federation.

Valve informed that they just got this news about 2 weeks ago.

So because of that case, the Swedish government refused to hold TI10 in their country.

Some time ago, Valve had negotiated with the country's interior minister, but unfortunately Valve's efforts to convince the Swedish interior minister that TI10 is an elite sports event that meets the requirements have failed.

It doesn't stop there, Valve has also submitted an appeal to the Swedish government on June 14, 2021, but so far there has been no visible progress from the appeal submitted by Valve.

Finally, because of these things, Valve made the decision to move the location of TI10 to another European country.

Valve promises to immediately report the latest news updates regarding the consideration of moving the TI10 location.

The regional qualifiers will go ahead as scheduled, although TI10's host remains unclear, Valve said.

Hopefully Valve will quickly find a replacement country for Sweden as the host, so that TI10 can still be held as planned.
