It's only been a month since Pokemon Unite launched on Mobile, and we've got our second DLC character! Unlike Gardevoir, Blissey is a Support role, and seems to be the strongest.

Prior to the August 18 update, Eldegoss was the only Pokemon eligible as a healer in Pokemon Unite. Now, Blissey joins the exclusive club, and is a true must-have for any team that cares about keeping its members alive.

Meanwhile, the release date for Pokemon Unite mobile is not far off, which is sure to bring in a lot of new players. If you are one of them, be sure to read our guide on choosing the best Pokemon Unite starter Pokemon right here!

Evolution

When you choose Blissey, you'll actually start the game as Chansey, progressing quickly to your final form at Level 4.

Unique Ability

Natural Cure – Removes all Status Conditions from Pokemon. Performs cooldown after being triggered.

Basic Attack – Becomes an enhanced attack after some time has passed, dealing increased damage.

Pound – Makes the user attack by hitting in a designated direction, dealing damage to Pokemon in the area of effect. Also reduces the enemy's Movement Speed for a short time when hit.

Heal Pulses – Continuously restores the HP of the user's Pokemon and designated allies for a short time.

Taking Pound first isn't a bad move, to help boost your lane to fight mid-Range Pokemon fast, Heal Pulse is the best way to ensure you survive your first lane battle. Keep in mind that, as Blissey, you don't want to get the last hit on Pokemon Wild, to give your partner bonus XP.

Level 4

Helping Hand – For a short time, greatly increases the Movement Speed and Basic Attack Speed of the user's Pokemon and nearby allies. As long as this movement effect lasts, all of Blissey's Basic Attacks become Boosted.

Upgrades: Increases damage from Basic Attacks as long as this move's effect lasts.

Egg Bombs – Throws eggs to the specified location. The egg then explodes, dealing damage to an opposing Pokemon in an area of effect and hurling it.

Upgrades: Also lowers opposing Pokemon's Movement Speed for a short time when they are knocked over by this move.

In practice, Egg Bomb should be the right choice here. The added Crowd Control of movement, combined with a bit of damage and reduced Movement Speed the end is just too good to pass up.

However, the Egg Bomb is slow moving at close range, making it difficult to master. Most teams would probably prefer the benefits of the Helping Hand, and it's certainly useful for helping catch up opponents or rushing back.

If you're laning with a Basic Attack-based Pokemon like Cinderace, increasing their Basic Attack Speed with a Helping Hand could be the advantage you've been looking for! Even Blissey does decent damage when only using Enhanced Attack, making the Pokemon quite the foe to deal with.

Level 6

safeguards – Removes all status conditions from a designated allied Pokemon and makes it immune to obstacles for a short time.

Upgrades: Also gives the designated ally Pokemon a shield.

Soft Boiled – Throws an egg at an allied Pokemon, recovering its HP as well as the user's. A maximum of three uses can be kept in reserve for this step.

Upgrades: Increases the maximum number of uses that can be stored as a backup.

Your Level 6 move of choice depends entirely on the team you're facing. Soft Boiled has never been a bad choice for Blissey, allowing the Pokemon to be the best healer in the game.

However, Safeguard's special advantages become even more apparent when you fight against annoying enemy Pokemon teams. If you're up against some annoying opponents that keep slowing down your DPS, consider using Safeguard against them in a big way.

Level 9

WOW! This Blissey Pokemon Unite Build Makes Your Enemy Stand Still!

Unite Move – Bliss Assistance – Makes the user run up to the designated Pokemon to give it an egg, giving that Pokemon a shield and increasing its Attack and Sp. Attack for a short time. The user also intercepts a portion of the damage taken by that Pokemon for a short time. While running, the user throws the closest opponent's Pokemon and those in contact with him.

Bliss Assistance is a powerful Unite Move capable of turning the tide of any battle. Simply target your strongest DPS carry and you will give them the opportunity to play solo with the enemy team.

Combined with the Buddy Barrier, you will make your ally unstoppable, but make sure to choose the right one!

Best Blissey Item – Pokemon Unite

As you play Blissey, here are the best items to use in Pokemon Unite:

Hold Items

  • Buddy Barrier – Unite Move deals Shield to the user and his ally with the lowest HP, equal to a percentage of each other's max HP.
  • Sharing EXP – Gain EXP every second when you are the lowest level team member.
  • Assault Vest – Get a shield against Sp. Attack when exiting battle. Also increases your HP and Sp Defense.
  • You can also consider picking up the Score Shield which increases your maximum HP and provides a shield to allow you to tank hits while trying to score points in enemy goals. In many ways, this item is better than EXP Share, because Blissey may not always be the lowest EXP Pokemon!

Battle Items

Despite the recent nerf, the Eject Button is key for Blissey due to the lack of escape options. You might consider special items like Goal-Getters or Slow Smoke, but we'll definitely be using the Eject Button ourselves.

Blissey's strategy in Pokemon Unite

  • As the best Support class in the game, Blissey excels at helping her team stay alive. Using moves and your high health pool, make sure your allies don't die before you do, otherwise you'll be left defenseless against enemy Pokemon.
  • Make sure you choose a good lane partner, as they need to carry the lane without a lot of collateral damage. Similarly, make sure your Unite Move is aiming at your team's best damage dealer.
  • Always use the Buddy Barrier to give your lowest HP allies (and yourself) a shield for extra support. This will help Blissey's Unite Move really change the game.
  • Always stay with the team, and be present in every big team fight, wherever it happens. Try and manage enemy Pokemon between you and your allies while using your Unite Move to knock-up enemies!
  • Give your allies as much EXP as possible, making sure you don't take the last hit from Wild Pokemon. Running EXP Share will allow you to level up simply by being on the lowest level team member – but it will only work if your allies are level enough.
