BladeRunner

Blade Runner is a game with a genre point-and-click adventures developed by Westwood Studios and published by Virgin Interactive for Microsoft Windows, released on November 14, 1997. The game is not a direct adaptation of Ridley Scott's 1982 film Blade Runner, but rather a "sidequel", telling an original story, which runs parallel to the film's plot, occasionally come into contact with him.

Set in Los Angeles 2019, this game tells the story of Ray McCoy, an elite detective assigned to hunt down a group of dangerous replicants (biotech androids designed to look and act like humans). Although several of the film's characters appear in the game, with several of the original actors returning to voice them, the film's protagonist, Rick Deckard, does not appear in a speaking role.

It was also one of the first adventure games to use 3D character rendering and a game world that evolves in real-time (as opposed to waiting for player actions). Unlike many games of its time, which used a polygon-based renderer that exploited the 3D accelerator, Westwood opted for their own software-based renderer using voxel technology.

Discworld Noir

Discworld Noir is an adventure game released in 1999 and developed by Perfect Entertainment and published by GT Interactive. The game is set in Terry Pratchett's satirical Discworld universe, which follows the first and only private investigator as he is given a case that takes him into the deadly and occult underbelly of Discworld's largest city.

This game takes place in the film noir genre, parodying noir classics such as Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon. The game was originally released for Microsoft Windows, then later released for the PlayStation by Teeny Weeny Games, a revival of the now bankrupt Perfect Entertainment. Pratchett consulted on the story and provided some of the dialogue, which was credited for causing "too much interference."

Her Story

Her Story

Her Story is an interactive film video game written and directed by Sam Barlow. The game itself was released on June 24, 2015 for iOS, OS X, and Windows, and the following year for Android.

Within the game itself, players will search and sift through a database of video clips from fictional police interviews, and use the clips to solve missing persons cases. The police interview focuses on the man's wife, Hannah Smith, played by British musician Viva Seifert.

This game itself is Barlow's first project since his departure from Climax Studios, after which he became independent. He wanted to develop games that depended on narrative, and avoided working on games until he had come up with a possible idea for execution.
