The anime television series NieR Automata will adapt the stories of 2B, 9S, and A2; three combat androids in 11945 AD are pitted in an unrelenting war against space machines for the fate of mankind and whose lives are irrevocably lost through the discovery of a terrible secret.

Announcement regarding the NieR Automata anime was announced on the Aniplex Twitter account last Wednesday (23/02/2022). 

Aniplex announced the release of the anime from games released by Square Enix featuring teaser trailers short NieR Automata anime accompanied by key art which features 2B wielding a katana with his flying robot assistant Pod 042. You can watch teasers here:

Nier: Automata is an action RPG (single player action role playing game) which hit in 2017.  Games it was directed by Yoko Taro and developed by Square Enix and PlatinumGames.
