Stardew Valley just released update patch 1.6 for PC March 19, 2024. With this update, various new content and features were also added.

Stardew Valley published an article detailing the game's latest update on site their official.
This article contains updates in terms of content, features, gameplay and other important elements. Here is the summary:
New Features and Content
In terms of in-game features, Stardew Valley currently has a “mastery” which can provide powerful facilities and items for players.
Several new festivals and activities were also added, namely The Desert Festival, Trout Derby and Squid Fest. Here is the list and its latest content:
- Additional new farm types, namely Meadowlands Farm;
- A world map for Ginger Island that will be visible when visiting the island;
- Players can keep multiple pets at once after gaining maximum heart points with the first pet;
- Pets can now occasionally give gifts to the player;
- Special winter clothing for NPCs;
- Added a golden parrot that can help players find all the walnuts on Ginger Island;
- Additional prize machines at Lewis' house;
- Additional mystery box;
- Four new crops, namely carrots, pumpkin, broccoli and melon powder;
- The four new home renovation areas are the dining room, attic, corner room and small house;
- Addition of more than 30 new items, including Fish Smoker and Fish Jelly;
- Players can now put hats on cats and dogs;
- Animal Tab feature that allows players to see all their pets and livestock;
- 8 new Achievements;
- 4 new cabin variations;
- New cameo that will appear in Maru's 14-heart event.
Visual and Environmental Improvements in Stardew Valley
Apart from adding various features and content in the game, Stardew Valley also updates the environmental visuals of this game.
One of the highlights in improving the game's visuals is the graphics of building interiors which have been made more detailed and better. Here's a summary of the improved visuals and environment:
- Added waterfall;
- More decorations for winter holidays;
- Additional variety of rare butterflies in summer;
- Additional brown bird variations;
- Recreated the world map to better match in-game locations in detail;
- The map of where buses stop is now wider;
- Jellies, pickles, grapes and juices are colored based on the item they are made from;
- Trees in the city are now real tree objects so players cannot cut them down;
- Some trees have a chance of losing all their leaves when autumn arrives;
- Improved view of George and Evelyn's roof;
- Added effects when players destroy mine chests;
- Added background behind a fortune teller show on TV where players get predictions for a perfect day or an unlucky day.
Apart from changing the environment in the game, Stardew Valley also made changes to the lighting.
These changes include getting dark an hour earlier in winter and city lights being active an hour later in all seasons.
Multiplayer System
Stardew Valley has received several suggestions and criticism regarding their multiplayer feature, one of which is the connection problem between players.
Therefore, in this update, Stardew Valley has also made many improvements to the performance and balance of the multiplayer mode in the game.
Steam players can now use authentication multiplayer Steam to significantly improve connection issues.
Apart from that, players also need the same build number to be able to join the multiplayer server. This will prevent the game from crashing due to build changes.
