As a brand and video game development company, Atlus's name in this industry is not "tiny". Not a few of their franchises have been able to survive until now.

In fact, you could say that the competitive climate in the gaming industry is currently quite tight. However, with consistent quality performance, they can still maintain the loyalty of the fanbase that has been built over 4 decades.

Even so, in 2013 they still had to join under the auspices of SEGA. Critics consider this business move to be the developer's attempt to survive.

So it is not surprising that their work can still be seen, including through the release of their newest tactical RPG title, Unicorn Overlord. This relatively new title is also quite promising.

Not only was this game able to get lots of high scores from various reviewers and gaming critics, Unicorn Overlord also got high sales figures.

Just imagine, in just less than a month, the digital and physical copy sales figures have reached 500 thousand! For a first title, that number is quite good!

So don't be surprised if in the future Atlus dares to make this title into a separate series or franchise! As a 2D tactical game, its future is still quite bright!

It is possible that Unicorn Overworld could be the next successor to Persona! We'll see how this series progresses in the future!

Actually, Unicorn Overlord itself is not too different from most tactical RPGs. Genres like this generally put more emphasis on the storyline, rather than graphics or gameplay.

What is unique about this game is the semi-open world universe with its non-linear progression characteristics. As a result, even though it is not as "open" as current Zelda titles, players can still explore more freely.

Apart from that, it should also be understood that this game is different from most tactical RPG games on the market. This reason also makes it seem fresher.

The combat system that it carries itself is not turn based (like Pokemon, for example), or tactical strategy (like Final Fantasy: Tactics) as in general.

Unicorn Overlord tends to combine the "rally" system (which usually appears in real-time strategy genres such as Lords Mobile) with the idle genre which is based on an auto combat system.

As a result, the player will simply have to move the controlled unit on the map, and the combat action that occurs will be carried out automatically so that it looks like a cutscene.

This kind of practice is considered suitable, especially for games that are intended for consoles with minimal capabilities - Nintendo Switch for example.

Because of this, Unicorn Overlord is one of the contemporary games available on all current gen consoles! So whatever current console you have, you can run this game smoothly!
