Holding an Esport Tournament? This is the Genshin Impact University Invitational!

Genshin Impact University Invitational UK will be held at the end of May 2022.

miHoYo, developer games from China released the first Esport tournament for games Their popularity is Genshin Impact.

MMORPG games actually feel foreign and it's not common to hold Esport tournaments.

Tournaments like this are usually synonymous with games with genres Battle Royale like PUBG nor Free Fire.

Genshin Impact is holding an Esports tournament with a new competitive event called Genshin Impact University Invitational UK.

The tournament will be held on May 28, 2022 at 4.30pm local time.

Developer HoYoverse, the company name miHoYo used to be, will team up with UK-based esports media group Ginx TV to host the tournament.

Genshin Impact University Invitational UK is known to be attended by 10 teams where there are representatives from every nine universities in England.

For the tenth team the plan will be a free Social Teams division for all UK student teams not from the nine affiliated universities.

The University divisions that will take part in the Genshin Impact University Invitational UK tournament are as follows:

  • University College London
  • Imperial College London
  • University of Warwick
  • King's College London
  • Brunel University London
  • London South Bank University
  • University of Roehampton London
  • Queen MaryUniversity of London
  • University of Surrey
  • SocialTeam

The teams representing the nine university divisions for the Genshin Impact University Invitational UK tournament will be determined through a voting and qualifying round. 

After the voting stage, the four teams with the most votes will advance to the qualification round of their respective divisions to become university representatives in the final round.  

Unlike the representatives from universities, the team with the most votes in the Social Team division will advance directly to the final round which will take place in London on 28 May.

The tournament will also hold another vote to determine the winner of the Popularity Award.

The results that the participating teams can win are numerous. A total of £11,000 and thousands of primogems will be awarded to each team and its members.

Genshin Impact University Invitational UK Qualifiers and Finals

The Genshin Impact University Invitational UK tournament round will be divided into a qualifying round and a final round.

Collection Challenge

On challenge the first Genshin Impact University Invitational UK, each team will be challenged to collect items (resources like Windwheel Aster) from open world Genshin Impact for the specified time limit.

Each player will be in a different world with a list of 15 Resources and related points that must be collected within 15 minutes.

The team's total score will be the scores of its members added together, and the two teams with the most points will move on to the next challenge.

Boss Battle Challenges

The next challenge from the Genshin Impact University Invitational UK is the Boss Battle Challenge.

Teams are assigned to challenge as many bosses as possible from the given list within a maximum of 30 minutes. 

There is no penalty for death, and each boss is worth a certain number of points. 

If a team succeeds in defeating all 8 listed Bosses, additional points will be awarded to the team with the fastest time.

All three players in a team will be in the same world and given identical accounts both in terms of account composition and bans.

The composition of the account used is:

  • AR60 maximum
  • Full map unlocked
  • There are all characters with Level 90
  • Talent at max level
  • All constellations are unlocked
  • All weapons are level 90
  • All Artifact types (only one set for each artifact set type)

Restrictions used on challenge the final round of the semifinals of the Genshin Impact University Invitational UK are:

  • Each Player can choose 1 character of his choice. However, the same character cannot be used more than once in a Team.
  • Players can choose their weapons freely.
  • Each Team can only use up to four 5-star artifacts at the same time. However, the Team can decide which character to use it or divide the quota between different characters freely.
  • Each Team has 2 chances to change their character/weapon/artifact/constellation during the Match. Each character/weapon/artifact/constellation change, as well as character/weapon/artifact change between team members will be counted as one chance.
  • Players can use food to restore HP but cannot use food that has other effects.

All Divisions must confirm their Finals Team representation by May 20, 2022 before moving on to the Finals.

Level Up

This challenge will require 1 Player from each Team. Each participant will play as a Traveler and will be given one higher level character to help out. 

Players must use any strategy to level up their Traveler (open chests, battle, etc.) within 20 minutes.

Each Team will be ranked and awarded points based on the reached Traveler level.

Players are not allowed to spend real money and will have no EXP or Primogems in the account to begin with. If there are Players of the same level, then they will be ranked by EXP.

Kaeya vs. Amber

Two Players from each Team will be joined by two from the opposing Team in the same world, each team assigned Amber and Kaeya before entering the world. 

Each player will also be given a starting point, and the opposing team's players will start crossing the water.

The challenge is for the player playing Kaeya to build a bridge across the water to get to the other side using ice, and for Tim playing Amber to survive using fire. 

Kaeya's team in the final round of the Genshin Impact University Invitational UK to finish their bridge first in maximum 20 minutes won the challenge.

Characters are not allowed to swim. If no Team Kaeya manages to pass it, then the Kaeya who has traveled the farther distance will win, and will be awarded 250 points.

Collections and Boss Challenges

For the Finals, the remaining teams will play Collections and Boss Challenges within a time limit of 50 minutes similar to in the qualifying stage.

The team with the highest total accumulated points will win the Championship.

This is information regarding the Genshin Impact University Invitational UK tournament. Unfortunately, for now the tournament will only be available to players in the UK.

However, when events If this works, it will most likely be held events globally including in Indonesia.
