Topaz Build Recommendations: Relics, Light Cone, and Trace

Topaz and Numby are 5 star characters that will be released in Patch 1.4 in the game Honkai Star Rail in the second phase with Guinaifen and the character Seele. Topaz has a Path Hunt role with a Fire element for every attack launched by Numby.

Topaz has unique gameplay, where every attack launched by Topaz will be replaced by Numby, Trotter's colleague at Honkai Star Rail. Apart from that, they are both Senior Managers of the Strategic Investment Department at the Interastral Peace Corporation (IPC), whose job is debt collector.

So, for those of you who want to gacha these two characters in Patch 1.4, here are the build recommendations so you can get an idea of build materials such as Relics, Trace Levels, and Light Cones which is suitable.

Recommended Light Cone Topaz

Following are the Light Cone (LC) recommendations for this character in order:

Topaz 5 Star Light Cone

We recommend the 5-star Worrisome Blissful Light Cone, and Cruising in the Stellar Sea.

Worrisome Blissful

Worrisome Blissful is the signature Light Cone (LC) from Topaz and Numby, so we highly recommend this LC because it is very suitable for Topaz.

If you look at the weapon's skill, namely increasing 18% Crit Rate and 30% Advanced Attack DMG, then the enemy target will enter "Tame" status, this effect can be stacked in up to 2 layers.

When teammates attack an enemy target with “Tame” status, each layer of “Tame” will increase 12% Crit DMG, if you can stack 2 layers you will get 24% Crit DMG.

Cruising in the Stellar Sea

This Light Cone is suitable for Topaz for those of you who don't get the Worrisome Blissful Light Cone, because this LC is easy to get because it can be purchased through the Herta Shop in the Simulated Universe.

If you look at the skill of this weapon, it will increase the Crit Rate by 8% and will get an additional 8% Crit Rate against enemy targets with an HP percentage less than or equal to 50%.

After Topaz defeats an enemy target, the user's ATK will increase by 20% for 2 turns.

Topaz 4 Star Light Cone

We recommend 4-star Light Cones such as Only Silence Remains and Swordplay.

Swordplay

This Light Cone is very suitable for Topaz, plus it is very easy to get this LC for free because it can be obtained through the gacha on each character or weapon banner and can also be purchased through Bucket Exchange every month.

The Light Cone skill has the ability to increase DMG when attacking the same enemy target repeatedly, the DMG will increase by 8% and this effect can be stacked up to 5 layers.

So when you reach 5 layers, the DMG increase will increase by 40%, however, if Topaz attacks a different enemy, the effect will disappear and it will start from the beginning again.

Only Silence Remains

This 4 star Light Cone is suitable for those of you who are Free to Play (F2P), because this LC can be obtained through the gacha for each character or can be purchased at the Ember Exchange every month.

This LC has a good skill for Topaz because it can increase the user's ATK 16% and increase 12% Crit Rate when the enemy target on the battlefield is less than or equal to 2.

This skill will be optimal when there are less than two enemies so it can increase the Crit Rate by 12%.

2 Pieces Firesmith and Musketeer

On 2 Piece Firesmith it will increase Fire DMG 10% and 2 Piece Musketeer will increase 12% ATK. Therefore, this combination is very suitable for those of you who want ATK and Fire DMG to increase together.

2 Piece Firesmith and Hackerspace

On 2 Piece Firesmith it will increase Fire DMG 10% and 2 Piece Hackerspace will increase 12% SPD.

Therefore, this combination is very suitable for those of you who want Fire DMG and Speed to increase together, because the higher the Speed, the faster Topaz will make his attack turn.

4 Piece Genius of Brilliant Stars

This relic is completely optional for those of you who are bored with the build above or want to try something new about the Topaz build.

Because these 4 pieces of relic are taken only for the main stats, that is, when the user causes DMG to an enemy target, the target's 10% DEF will be ignored. If the target has Quantum Weakness, then the amount of ignored DEF increases by another 10%.

If you want to use these 4 pieces of relic, it is very mandatory that the enemy has Weakness Quantum because in the main stats the relic will be active if there is Weakness Quantum, so it will ignore the enemy's 20% DEF if there is Weakness Quantum.

2 Piece Inert Salsotto

Planar and Rope are very suitable for Topaz, because they will increase the Crit Rate by 8% and when the Crit Rate reaches 50% or more, the Ultimate and Advanced Attack DMG will increase by 15%.

Because Topaz and Numby rely on Advanced Attacks as the main attacks on these characters.

2 Piece Space Sealing Station

Planar and Rope are suitable for Topaz, because they can increase 12% ATK and when Speed reaches 120 or more, it will increase Topaz's ATK again by 12%.

Topaz Trace Level Up Priority

Here are the Traces that you must increase as follows:

Trotter Market – Talent

You can raise this skill first to the highest level, because Topaz will focus on this skill to launch a Follow-up Attack from Numby and cause Fire DMG.

The higher the level of this trace, the Advanced Attack DMG and Fire DMG will increase.

Difficulty Paying – Skill

Next, you can raise this talent to the highest level, because it can cause a Follow-up Attack and give the enemy a "Proof of Debt" effect, so it can trigger a Follow-up Attack from Numby's previous talent trace.

Turn a Profit – Ultimate

Ultimate Topaz will cause a DMG Multiplier from Numby and enemy targets that have the “Proof of Debt” effect will receive a direct Follow-up Attack from Numby when teammates launch any attacks against the enemy.

We recommend raising the Ultimate level when talents and skills are at the highest level.

Deficit – Basic ATK
