Hello Vicigers, Valorant has several game modes and the main one is called Spike di Valorant, which is the same as bombs in other games like CS:GO. Because that's the main reason players have to strategize on how to defend the site or vice versa, attack it and plant spikes in Valorant, there are some basics that must be discussed and known.

In this article, we'll cover the core mechanics of this design work and share some ways to produce an effective game, whether as defenders or attackers. Experienced players may already know how to pick up, drop, place, and tame spikes. However, those who may need basic knowledge or are just starting out play Valorant games.

What You Should Know About Spike in Valorant!

BASIC MECHANICS

So where did the spikes come from? It's only attackers who can hold it. Think of it as the bomb that arrives with the terrorists in Counter-Strike.

First equip it by pressing 4, then pressing G to throw it to the ground, the same as when dropping the gun. Another safe way that can also save time is to drop it directly on a teammate. They will pick it up automatically, or by throwing Spikes in Valorant directly at teammates. It's best to warn them beforehand, or they may not notice.

SPIKE TIMER

Timing in Valorant is very important, so knowing how long it takes to tame or equip a Spike in Valorant can save lives. Attaching a spike in Valorant takes about 4 seconds, with or without a few milliseconds. Once installed, the Spike will take 45 seconds to explode. The taming process, on the other hand, is longer than fitting. It takes 7 seconds to completely defuse the bomb.

Defenders will defuse the spike in Valorant if the situation is safe, If the enemy is approaching and the player must defend themselves, if the half mark is reached, if the taming line has reached the center line then other players can continue taming from the midpoint, Time needed to defuse the spike in Valorant after half way each is 3.5 seconds. To recap Spike times: 4 seconds to engage, 45 seconds to detonate, 7 seconds to defuse, 3.5 seconds to half-defuse.

SPIKE SIGNS: SOUND AND VISUAL

Spikes in Valorant will provide visual and audio cues so it's easier to distinguish from everything else that's happening during the round. Attackers will be able to see the person carrying Spike at any given moment by checking the mini map in the upper left corner of the screen. When Spike is not picked up, the spot where Spike was dropped will be shown in yellow.

Defenders will see Spike in Valorant marked in orange when on the ground, considering it is in their teammate's line of sight. Once installed, the match timer will be replaced with a red spike icon. When the spike sounds, the icon will flash and show how much time is left.

At first, it may seem difficult to pay attention to all the cues during a match, but with enough time and practice, the feeling can be honed to tell the difference between certain times. therefore, here is a recap of the audio and visual cues once the Spike is attached: 0-25 sec – 1 beep/sec; 25-35 seconds – 2 bps; 35-40 seconds – 4 bps; 40-45 seconds – 8 bps.

SPIKE TIPS AND TRICKS

When Spike is equipped, there is no circle visualizing the explosion's range on the minimap. Instead, there is an agent circle which serves as an indicator for the distance at which the character's footsteps are heard by enemies – this can be used to determine if and at what time it is possible to exit the detonation perimeter to avoid an explosion. Starting from the semi-circle, the more distance agents put between themselves and Spike, the less damage they will take.

Another thing to note is that installing Spike in Valorant doesn't require looking at it or the ground. Just press button 4 and the agent will magically do everything while looking around and still looking for enemies who can ambush them. This applies to attackers as well as defenders. When defuse a bomb, as long as it is within the radius marked by a white circle near the bomb, it is safe to take action.
