Konami is very skilled at making beat 'em up arcade games multiplayer which is cool and legendary. For example The Simpsons, X-Men, and Bucky O'Hare games (which may not be as popular as the others). They released these games in the golden era of arcades in the early 90s.

But actually, the success of this Konami arcade game started with the phenomenal Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 1989. This game really presents all the elements of the Ninja Turtles character which is very suitable.

The game machine design is cool, up to four people can play together. Apart from that, this game also has colorful and cool cartoon images. Apart from that, the cartoon intro was changed to pixel art to attract players' attention.

Not to mention the beat 'em up scrolling style of play which is really fun. Anyway, it's perfect for TMNT fans!

This game was very successful and liked by many people, until it became the highest grossing arcade game in 1990.

It was so popular that Konami had difficulty meeting demand and finally had to collaborate with other factories to help with production.

This game was later converted to the NES with the title TMNT II: The Arcade Game (there are additional levels too!), and was even ported to various home computers.

In 2007, this game was also released on Xbox Live Arcade with the title TMNT 1989 Classic Arcade (unfortunately it can no longer be downloaded).

Then, in 2019, Arcade 1Up released a replica of this legendary game as part of their home arcade machine series. So now you can experience playing arcade games with your friends at home!

This arcade game is a continuation of the cool game from 1989 which will take you to familiar places.

Initially you will play at the New York City level, but later the main villain of the Ninja Turtles, the evil Shredder, will send them into a time machine. Well, here's what's exciting! You will be invited to go on an adventure through history, even into the future!

Even though the game improves several things from the previous game, the way to play is still not much different. Just the story and place are different.

The thing is, the first game was really top-notch, you could play with a group of up to four people, it was an exciting side-scrolling beat 'em up genre and is still fun to play to this day.

Oh yes, this game was also converted to SNES with the title TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (continuing the serial number from the previous NES game). There are some tweaks from the arcade game to home consoles, but there are still new stages and enemies as well.

Turtles in Time was also published again in a more modern form with the title Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled in 2009, specifically for PS3 and Xbox 360.

This was released on Ninja Turtles' 25th anniversary. This new version sports a 3D display, new music, and even a new game mode. But still, the pixel art style of the original game is the coolest and most legendary to date.
