Honkai Star Rail Stat: Definition, Categories, Stat Types
We will explore the definitions, stat categories to their types. This is so that we both understand what the Honkai Stat Star Rail is.
Definition
Stats or also known as attributes in the Honkai Star Rail game are a certain number that is used to regulate combat and exploration in Honkai Star Rail.
These various stats can influence character strength, how fast the character can use the ability or ultimate attack, the ability to recover HP, and the character's survival ability.
Stats are basically owned by characters such as ATK, HP, DEF, and others. But there are also some additional stats that you have to get from set relics or passive lightcones.
In Honkai Star Rail the classes and abilities of each character are divided into Paths. This path will determine the character's role.
For example, Path Preservation for Tankers, Path Destruction for DPS solo targets, Abundance for Healers, and many more.
The difference in this character's Path determines which stats you should optimize so that the character's abilities shine even more.
Apart from Path, character elements also have an effect on finding enemy weak points or doing debuffs on enemies. Path and Element are not really related but reinforce each other's character.
Honkai Star Rail Stat Categories and Types
In the Honkai Star Rail game, there are several Attributes that can be grouped into three categories: Basic (basic stats), Advanced (additional or advanced), and Elements.
Basic Stats is a stat that players can easily increase by increasing a character's level and ascension.
These stats will automatically increase when you level up your character or can be obtained from the main stats of relics or lightcones. Stats that include basic stats are as follows:
- HP (Health Point)
- ATK (Attack)
- DEF (Defense)
- SPD (Speed)
Advanced Stats are the stats needed by the character and you won't necessarily get them from leveling up or character ascension.
You will only get this advanced stat from relics or lightcone. Advanced stats consist of:
- Crit Rate (Critical Rate)
- Critical DMG (Critical DMG)
- Break Effects
- Outgoing Healing Boost
- MaxEnergy
- Energy Regeneration Rate
- Effect Hit Rate
- Effects RES
Element Stats is a stat that relates to the element that the character has. Element (example: Quantum, Fire, Ice, etc.) Boost DMG and Element RES Boost fall into this stat category.

New Stats
Most of the stats in Honkai Star Rail are similar to those of its predecessor, especially with Genshin Impact.
This similarity will certainly make it easier for you to play Honkai Star Rail if you have previously played games released by other HoYoVerse first.
However, there are some new stats that might be a bit confusing because of what they do for characters.
The new stats are: Speed (SPD), Break Effect, Hit Rate, and Energy Regeneration Rate.
Speed (SPD)
Speed or SPD is a stat that states how fast the duration interval is between when a character completes their action (turn) and starts another turn.
SPD also greatly affects the action sequences that characters will perform when entering battle mode.
Break Effects
Break Effect is a stat that increases the Weakness Break Effect that a character gives to enemies.
This affects the DMG of the Weakness given, how much Damage over Time (DoT) the elements are in Honkai Star Rail, and how long the duration of the debuff is to hinder enemy attacks.
Effect Hit Rate
Effect Hit Rate or Hit Rate is a stat that can increase a character's chances of debuffing enemies.
The greater the Effect Hit Rate a character has, the greater the character gives debuffs to the enemy.
Energy Regeneration Rate (ERR)
Energy Regen Rate (ERR) is a stat that is arguably the rarest and most difficult to obtain for most Honkai Star Rail players. You can only get ERR from Relics, especially in the Link Rope and Planar sections.
The function of ERR is to multiply the Energy generated by attacks (Normal, hit by enemy attacks, skills, etc.) which are used to use Ultimate attacks.
So, the duration you need to collect energy is shorter and you can use Ultimate more often.
