Shield Locations in God of War Ragnarok, Take Note!

God of War Ragnarok is one of the most fun and exciting action or adventure games of its generation to date. 

The combat of this game is highly appreciated by every player who picks it up. One important aspect of this complex combat system is the player's shield. 

While Kratos and Atreus are proficient at dealing melee and ranged damage against other entities in God of War Ragnarok, there are many moments where you are required to block, dodge, or block incoming attacks.

God of War Ragnarok Shield Location

There are a total of five shields in God of War Ragnarok, each with a special ability that helps our beloved protagonist in their dangerous journey across the nine realms. 

You can choose which shield they want to use based on their playstyle and preferences. Now, let's see how to get each of these shields inside games.

GuardianShield

Guardian Shield is given at the beginning God of War Ragnarok. Players who have completed God of War (2018) will recognize the shield from the previous entry and the parry and counterattack options it provides, as they remain essentially unchanged. 

Her ability is known as “Shield Check”, which parries enemy attacks and launches counterattacks that damage their defenses. 

You were able to use this shield in the early moments of God of War Ragnarok, it was broken immediately in the battle between Thor and Kratos. However, later repaired by Brok, and you are free to use it.

Dauntless Shield

The Dauntless Shield is one of two replacement shields that Brok offers Kratos while the Guardian shield is undergoing repairs. 

It can be made at a dwarven shop and has a slick design that makes it look like almonds. Pressing L1 twice while holding this shield allows the player to perform a Shield Bash, which sees Kratos swing the shield and attack enemies with it for moderate damage. 

Parrying shield charges, and performing a Shield Bash after charging gives you additional damage and stun abilities.

Stonewall Shield

The Rock Wall Shield is the second option the player gets when choosing between himself and the Dauntless shield at the start of the game. Like the Dauntless Shield, it can be crafted in the Huldra Brothers workshop. 

The Stonewall Shield is more prominent in size than the Dauntless Shield and has an ability called Shield Slam. As the name suggests, this ability slams the shield into the ground, which damages enemies in front of it. 

In addition, players can charge shields by absorbing incoming attacks. Absorbing four hits completely recharges the shield allowing Shield Slams to be devastating.

The Shatter Star Shield

The Shatter Star Shield is a collectible item that can be obtained from one of the game's many Legendary chests that players find during their journey.

You can find him in Vanaheim during the main quest, "The Reckoning." The Shatter Star Shield has many different mechanisms that make it a unique defensive weapon. 

His special ability allows Kratos to blow enemies up by punching shields. Like other shields, Shatter Star's shield has a charging bar that offers increased stun and damage with each charging level.

The main weapons featured in the game make the battles very fun and dynamic, some uniquely designed shields make God of War Ragnarok almost perfect.
