As described by Riot Games, the Kayo Valorant is “a war machine built for one purpose: neutralizing beams.”

Power defense powers will utilize VALORANT radianites to prevent other agents from activating their abilities, an intuitive counter for most existing agents.

Kayo Valorant Game Designer Ryan Cousart acknowledged that the intention behind these robot-like agents was to have agents “back to basics” with frags and flashes, but with “badass” kits with added emphasis.

Fragments (C)

KAYO's frag ability is quite lethal. The fragments stuck to the floor and exploded several times in a cluster-like fashion, with the center of each explosion nearly lethal.

Flash/Drive (Q)

KAY/O's ability kit sees him as another agent with a flashbang. The flash grenade exploded after a short fuse, blinding anyone in line of sight.

Agents also have the ability to cast charged flashes. A charged flash can be activated by right-clicking instead of the usual left-click, and only needs to cook for 1 second, as opposed to the usual 1.6 seconds.

Zero Points (E)

KAY/O's ability to put pressure on opponents is the main advantage of his kit. Using E equips the blade to stick to the first surface it hits, causing an explosion and pressuring the opponent to use their ability.

NULL/ CMD(X)

KAY/O's ultimate ability makes it instantly overloaded with polarized radianite energy upon activation. This strengthens KAY/O and causes a large energy pulse to radiate from its location, causing enemies it hits to be suppressed for a short time.

The ultimate ability for KAY/O also provides a few perks for himself, adding Combat Stim to his kit and adding a last chance lifeline. If KAY/O is killed while overloaded, he enters an unstable state rather than dying, offering his teammates a chance to revive him.

Tips for Using Kayo Valorant

KAY/O players certainly have to make good use of their abilities from the start of each round. Getting enemies caught in a suppression radius can be deadly if the player isn't sharp with aim and placement of their crosshair, as it prevents them from using their abilities for a period of time.

For example, I was playing Yoru on team and I left my Gatecrash near the teleporter in Bind. After entering the site, I moved, and this is when KAY/O's opponent uses Zero/Point near the intersection of his spawn points. All of Yoru's abilities immediately froze and went into suppression mode. Basically, I can't teleport out of place when pressed, leaving myself vulnerable to enemies. It's not just Yoru, and KAY/O affects every Agent in Valorant uniquely.

KAY/O's ultimate ability set is heavily based on enemy suppression, which encourages pure FPS gunplay. So the most important aspect of fighting KAY/O electricity is improving your aim, which every player will do with time and with practice.

CS:GO fans will love KAY/O's flash capabilities, as they allow players to easily create pop-flashes. In the right hands, KAY/O can flash enemies up close without flashing teammates or himself, and blinding enemies at close range is an easy kill.

Frag/Ment (grenade) is another versatile ability that allows players to get some free kills. Learning all the builds for KAY/O's Frag/Ment ability will especially help players in post-plant situations when they are trying to protect or defuse Spike.

Weaknesses of Kayo Valorant

Kayo Valorant

KAY/O is ultimately a very strong Duelist and until now, we haven't found many weaknesses in playing him, other than the fact that KAY/O can encourage more aggressive rushes.

With KAY/O, opposing teams can try to double down on location control by covering key points, and they're sure to use their skills when they can.

Also, players with strong aim who can challenge KAY/O in a shootout without relying on their skills will win against him, but it's not just improving aim that players should focus on.

So one has to master the mental states to remain calm and precise even without their abilities. Players who have natural one-tap skills can easily survive, even if they are suppressed.

Theoretically, baiting utility KAY/O would be ideal, but fighting his ultimate will require rigorous practice.

Valorant's war machine transforms into a tank at its ultimate. Combat Stim combined with suppression pulses forces players to engage in gunfights, and weaker players are taken down easily.

An added advantage of having KAY/O on your team is that if an opponent kills him in his ultimate state then any teammate can stabilize him. In his downed state, KAY/O has 850 HP, and opponents can choose to shoot him or use him as bait for an easy kill.

KAY/O's ability to recover from 'death' is a strength for him, but could become his team's weakness if the opponent decides to use this ability as bait.
