Esports tournaments are now starting to get busier, starting from regional to international levels. This year, the International VCT Valorant event has been officially announced and will be held in 2022.

VCT Valorants

Valorant Champions Tour 2022 or VCT Valorant is the second official tournament circuit held by Riot Games. This year, Valorant is holding its second International tournament which will be held in Istanbul to conclude the 2022 season.

Previously, the VCT Valorant 2021 Schedule was held in Berlin, Germany, from 1 to 12 December 2021. At that event, sixteen teams qualified for the tournament based on their results through Master Valorant 2021: Stage 3, this year's regional Circuit Point standings, and Regional Last Chance Qualifiers.

And that year, Acend team became the world champions of Valorant after defeating Gambit Esports in the final with a score of 3–2.

Valorant VCT Schedule 2022

Later the best teams that have passed the Challenger Stage 2 event from each region will meet in Copenhagen Denmark, which will host the Masters event in this second season. At the event in Copenhagen this time the VCT Valorant Schedule will take place on the date 10 to 24 July 2022 and will feature twelve teams that will compete for points, prizes, and glory from VCT.

Furthermore, VCT Valorant 2022 will close its 2022 season in Istanbul Turkey which is also the highlight event of VCT Valorant 2022. In this event, sixteen top teams from around the world will compete for the title of Valorant World Champion in Istanbul.

The event in Istanbul itself will take place on the date September 2 to 18, 2022 and will feature sixteen teams, of which ten teams will qualify through their performances during the regular season and six teams through the Final Stage Qualification (LCQ) stage which will take place in August.

According to Valorant's official website, the aim of holding this international event in two cities and two countries is to provide the best guarantee that all teams in the world who meet the requirements will be able to attend and compete for the championship safely.

Valorant 2022 VCT formats

In the Valorant Champions Tour 2022, there are 2 formats that must be followed by teams wishing to compete in this international event, namely Challengers, Masters and Champions. The three formats certainly have different requirements when contested.

The following are the terms of the Challengers, Masters and Champions formats:

Challengers

1. This event is organized by Riot Games
2. Qualification is done through open qualification for teams who want to compete
3. The top team in the advanced Playoffs can compete in the next Masters event.

Masters

1. There will be 2 events along circuit, namely Masters 1 – Reykjavík and Masters 2 – Copenhagen.
2. The event will take place during April and July.

For Masters 1 – Reykjavík there will be 12 teams that will compete against each other. The 12 teams will be divided into regional sections and represent their respective regions, namely: North America 2 slots, EMEA 3 slots, South Korea 1 slot, Japan 1 slot, APAC 2 slots, Brazil 1-2 slots, Latin America 1 -2 slots.

And there are some notes, namely:

1. Team Turkey, CIS and MENA will have qualification via EMEA Challengers.
2. The SEA, South Asia and Oceania teams will qualify through the APAC Challengers.
3. LATAM and Brazil will compete for the second slot.

Furthermore, for Masters 2 – Copenhagen it will be the same as Reykjavík, where there will be 12 teams that will compete against each other and represent their respective regions. Regionals that will compete in Copenhagen include: North America 2 slots, EMEA 3 slots, South Korea 1 slot, Japan 1 slot, APAC 2 slots, Brazil 1-2 slots, Latin America 1-2 slots.

And there are some notes, namely:

1. Team Turkey, CIS and MENA will have qualification via EMEA Challengers.
2. The SEA, South Asia and Oceania teams will qualify through the APAC Challengers.
3. LATAM and Brazil will compete for the second slot.

Champions

Furthermore, in the Champions format, there will be 16 teams from each region that will compete in this format. To compete in the Champions round, there will be 2 ways to fill in the qualifying slots so you can compete in the main event of VCT Valorant 2022, namely by Circuit Point Slots and Last Chance Qualifier Slots.

Circuit Point Slots

In the competition for Circuit Point Slots, there will be a total of 10 teams from each region that will represent their respective regions. Each of these regions, namely: North America 2 slots, EMEA 2 slots, Brazil 1 slot, Latin America 1 slot, Japan 1 slot, APAC 2 slots, South Korea 1 slot.

And there are some notes, namely:

1. Latin American and Brazilian teams will qualify via the South American regional Last Chance Qualifier.
2. SEA, Oceania and South Asia will qualify through the APAC South Last Chance Qualifier.
3. Japan and Korea will have qualified through the APAC North Last Chance Qualifier.

Last Chance Qualifier Slots

In the fight for the Last Chance Qualifier Slots, there will only be 6 teams that will fight over the slot. Each of the teams will represent their respective region, namely: North America: 1 slot, EMEA: 1 slot, South America: 2 slots, North APAC: 1 slot, South APAC: 1 slot.
