Lost Judgment Review on PC, Exciting RPG Game 2023!

SEGA released RPG games named Lost Judgment on PC, a game about a detective who dares to solve a case. 

Unlike its predecessor, Lost Judgment takes place in Isezaki Ijincho , Yokohama. The game originally came out in 2021, around the same time as Yakuza: Like a Dragon, so it was a smart move to reuse those assets. 

It's a beautiful city, but it offers characters, moments, and a story completely unrelated to Ichiban Kasuga's Yakuza story. 

While many players enjoyed Judgment's story more, the sequel has better mechanics, visuals, and story that more people tend to recognize, making for a much better game overall.

Lost Judgment Has New Features

Games the first starring Takayuki Yagami was fun, but also flawed, with the story carrying most of the weight. With that in mind, Lost Judgment is here as an RPG game that makes fans love it again.

While tailings are still a problem, they occur less frequently. The whole "tail and chase" gimmick isn't done in every, much to the credit of this game. 

The Friendship System is gone, so players don't need to randomly befriend 50 people in a city to progress. Detective mode, where you scan for clues, is much faster, and you can ask for clues if you get confused. 

Unlike in the first game, searching for clues won't penalize you on accumulated SP. Plus, you even get a crime-solving dog to help out, and you can take him for a walk. That in itself is a great feature addition.

Movement improved, enhancing Yagami's existing parkour skills. Now he can climb the pipes along the sides of buildings, something that is very important in the game. 

The stealth mechanic was improved, giving him coins to throw and distract people, and smoke bombs to hit people in the face. 

Not to mention that the open cable door knob is completely missing. This makes the experience much better. The added travel of the skateboard is great too, but not being able to surf the pavement slows it down at times. 

It's also worth noting that it comes with all of the DLC, except for The Kaito Files. There is a bundle that comes with it. It comes with all the other DLC, including high school items, a fourth fighting style (fists), dog skins, and more.

Lost Judgment gameplay on PC 2023

One of the things that serves as both a blessing and a curse is that the story will resonate with a wide range of players. It targets high school bullying but also addresses suicide and tragedies such as sexual assault.

Games it doesn't handle this story very well in all cases, but overall, I enjoyed this story for what it is. Takayuki Yagami ends up getting involved in this high school case that started as just another bullying story. 

It won't be long before things spiral out of control. Yagami has to tuck himself into the school as a counselor, while also doing his detective work, which can be a bit overwhelming. 

This is where the game starts to feel like Persona. He has a set of stats which are enhanced by playing games, and by participating in various school activities. It feels like it's been partially ripped out of Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

It's pretty much recycled from the visuals of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and it's a very smart decision. It was already a beautiful city, and several areas had to be unlocked and designed for Yagami and Kaito to explore. 

Visually, this city is stunning. Lost Judgment also has one of my favorite battle themes from the RGG Studio catalogue. The voice cast is excellent in both JP and ENG, and it feels like SEGA is attracting some big names to lend their voices.

If you play this game, you will enjoy gameplay that is quite difficult and indeed provides really cool RPG visuals.
