Aura Kingdom 2 Review, Not as Exciting as the Previous Series

In the first quarter of 2020, the developer and publisher, X-Legends released the latest game for the mobile platform. The game publisher from Taiwan launched a game with an MMORPG concept entitled AuraKingdom 2. Of course, the name Aura Kingdom was familiar to PC gamers in Indonesia around 2014. Then this game is also available for the Mobile platform with the title Aura Kingdom.

Now the latest sequel has started to be played. Aura Kingdom 2 is certainly different from the previous series even with the same title. Let's look at the following brief review of the Aura Kingdom 2 game.

Absolutely not a continuation of the previous series

Even though it uses a similar title, it's just that this game doesn't seem to be related to Aura Kingdom. A number of features and terms still stick out in Aura Kingdom including Gaia, Eidolon, and several others. But in general this game is really not the same as before. However, when viewed from the gameplay adopted, AuraKingdom 2 still has most of the MMORPG aspects. Presenting various missions that can be said to be just repetition. Auto-questing, auto-pathing and auto-combat features are mainstays in this one game.

The main mission flow in Aura Kingdom 2 is quite boring. Like the PC version of the game, the player's main task in Aura Kingdom 2 is simply to finish off opponents, collect items, and also complete dungeons. These main missions can be completed instantly as is commonly found in mobile MMORPG games. Gameplay unfortunately doesn't apply the dynamics of difficulty to the completion of the main mission. That way, the main mission doesn't present a challenge that requires players to run in manual mode. All the main missions are fairly easy and safe to run automatically. Players are only required to carry out grinding as much as possible in order to increase the level. You could say Aura Kingdom 2 is a real heavy grinding game.

Only 4 Jobs

Despite AuraKingdom 2 only presents 4 main jobs but the status is different for each job. For example, the Shinobi job focuses on Melee/DPS relying on a pair of swords. Whereas Shinobi jobs in the previous Aura Kingdom series used a pair of Shuriken. Then there is a Dragoon with the position of a Tank armed with a Spear which at first glance is similar to the Job Lancer in Aura Kingdom. Besides that, for remote combat, there are two other jobs available, namely Elementalist as an attacker relying on AoE and Support armed with a magic wand. Nymph who occupies the position of Ranger DPS. Aura Kingdom 2 concentrates on the level of each job. So that the next job has its own level by changing the class name. For example Dragoon ascending to Dragon Soul, Dragonfire or Wyvern Knight.

29 Eidolons

In the previous Aura Kingdom game series, players are certainly familiar with various Eidolon including Baldur, Alucard, Kotonoha, or Sigrun. Even in Aura Kingdom 2, there are still Eidolons and the number has even been increased to a total of 29. It's just that the animation doesn't feel as good as in the first game.

Deep eidolon AuraKingdom 2 grouped into five types arranged according to the skills possessed starting from Power, Critical, Life, Tank, and Evasion. From the menu the player can find all 29 Eidolons that can be obtained in the game. It's just that to get all the Eidolons, players have to do gacha. As in mobile games, most players must gacha in order to collect Eidolons with various rarity levels.

Playing the Aura Kingdom 2 game, which feels quite right, is the visual side that doesn't find any improvement. What is clear, from 2020 to early 2021 there will certainly be many games with the MMORPG concept with high-quality graphics that don't run smoothly for mobile phones with potato specifications. But that didn't happen for Aura Kingdom 2. Aura Kingdom 2 brings visuals that can be said to be a bit old school. In addition, the depiction of the animation is very stiff, even though the skill effects use the basic skill effects of the first Aura Kingdom game.

Even with the name AuraKingdom 2 but this game could not match the popularity of the first Aura Kingdom. Instead of getting an exciting sensation, Aura Kingdom 2 instead presents the same repetitive matches. Only one exciting point is the character upgrade system as well as Eidolon.
