Storyline Return to Monkey Island

This game is set on a fictional island in the Caribbean around the Golden Age of Piracy, just like the previous series.

The main story of Return to Monkey Island takes place after Tales of Monkey Island. This game also features a continuation story from “Le Chuck's Revenge”.

It's been years since Guybrush engaged in combat with his nemesis, the zombie pirate LeChuck.

The love of his life, Elaine Marley, has shifted his focus from government, while Guybrush himself is still not satisfied because he has not succeeded in finding the secret of Monkey Island.

Meanwhile the young pirate leaders led by Captain Madison have succeeded in capturing Melee Island and removing the old guard from power.

Currently, Melee Island is heading towards ruin and a famous businessman named Stan has been jailed on charges of “marketing-related crimes”.

Old friends and new faces on a familiar island are now under a dangerous new government. Will they be free in the future?

Gameplay Return to Monkey Island

Return to Monkey Island carries the adventure genre with gameplay point-and-click. The main goal of the game is to complete the given narrative-based puzzles.

You need to explore several locations, find information by talking to NPC characters, and collect various items.

Inventory in this game also now uses displays drag and drop to make it easier for players to use or combine items.

A collectible item is also added in the form of trivia cards, hidden randomly in almost all locations in the game.

If you manage to find them, they will be saved in the Trivia Book. The card will ask the player a question.

If the answer given is correct, the card will change color to gold and remain stored in the book.

Instead, they will disappear and you have to search again in a different location if you don't succeed in guessing the answer to the question.

The appearance of this game is different from the previous series, when you move the cursor in the interactive zone a short dialogue will appear and give options for the action that Guybrush will take.

This game contains a hint system that has been designed to prevent players from searching for guides on the internet as well as a new mode called “Casual Mode” for new players.

Not only does it bring famous characters from the previous game series, several new characters such as Captain Madison and 3 young pirate leaders also appear in this game.

The new chapter in the Monkey Island game series marks the return of iconic creators such as Ron Gilbert and Rex Crowle.
