The same is the case with the Poco X3 NFC owner who is currently experiencing confusion, because he is confused about whether to change his cellphone or not to the Poco X3 Pro. I hope that Realme Fans are also feeling the same turmoil, especially for Realme 7 Pro users.

Realme 8 Pro has a body design that is almost similar to the previous series Realme 7 Pro. Both carry plastic material on the backdoor and frame, these two cellphones have not so different weights. The Realme 7 Pro weighs 182 grams, while the Realme 8 Pro only weighs 176 grams.

The dimensions of these two cellphones are also not too different, 160.9 x 74.3 x 8.7 mm (R7P) vs 160.6 x 73.9 x 8.1 mm (R8P). It can be seen here that the Realme 8 Pro can make a thinner design than the previous series, now the Realme 8 Pro is only about 0.81 cm thick, 0.6 mm thinner than the Realme 7 Pro.

  • Screen

Both of these cellphones use Super AMOLED screen panels, with FullHD + resolution, 20: 9 ratio. The difference here is because the selfie camera on the Realme 8 Pro screen has a smaller diameter, so the Realme 8 Pro has a slightly wider screen-to-body ratio than its younger sibling.

The decrease in specifications is also found in the glass layer of the Realme 8 Pro, until now, Realme has not announced whether the Realme 8 Pro screen has screen protection from Gorilla Glass or not.

As we know, the Realme 7 Pro itself has been coated with a layer of Gorilla Glass 3+ from Corning, not really the newest one, at least it's pretty good in case of wear and tear.

Interestingly, these two cellphones also have an always on display (AOD) feature, where you can see the information you want, for example, time, date, notifications, etc., even though your cellphone is locked.

  • Processor and GPU

Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G vs 732G

Still comfortable using the Snapdragon 720G processor from Qualcomm, actually making many Realme Fans wonder, why is this being done?

Actually, we also don't know the detailed reasons, but what we know from the launch event of the Realme 8 series yesterday, Realme informed that the Snapdragon 720G and GPU Adreno 618 are considered capable of supporting their new smartphone series.

It's not wrong, Snapdragon 720G is indeed one of the best processors in its class, but it seems that current market demand is always directly proportional to technological advances, especially Snapdragon and Mediatek themselves have recently been actively releasing their newest series of processors.

In our opinion, the Realme 8 Pro made a few blunders, because competitors are in the same class and vulnerable at the same price, some of them provide specifications that can be more attractive to potential buyers.

Like by providing the latest processor from Qualcomm in the same series, such as Snapdragon 732G or above, or for example the latest Dimensity series processor from Mediatek.

  • RAM & ROM memory

These two cellphones also still use UFS 2.1 storage technology, no upgrades have been made, for example using UFS 2.2/3.1 on Realme 8 Pro.

Again, Realme feels comfortable immersing rather old technology in their latest smartphone series, at least these two cellphones are still relatively safe, because they don't use eMMC technology. UFS 2.1 not bad oh!

These two cellphones also have the same 2 variants for the global market, namely 6/128GB and 8/128GB. But for the Indonesian market, Realme only carries 1 of their highest variants, which has 8GB of RAM.

Fortunately, these two cellphones are also good at providing triple slots (dedicated slots) for 2 SIM slots and 1 microSD slot. So, if you run out of internal storage, at least you don't have to sacrifice 1 of your SIM slots to use an additional microSD.
