5 Interesting Facts about the Raiden Shogun Genshin Impact Character

Constellation Names Indicate Not Archon The Seven

This fact is probably already known by most players, where the current Raiden Shogun is not an original member of the Archons or commonly referred to as The Seven.

If you look at the pattern, Zhongli and Venti as the remaining original members of The Seven have similar constellation names.

The Venti constellation is "Carmen Dei", where Carmen means song and Dei means God. Meanwhile, Zhongli has the constellation "Lapis Dei" where Lapis means stone and Dei means God.

Meanwhile, the Raiden Shogun constellation is called "Imperatrix Umbrosa" which is taken from the Latin words meaning empress (imperatrix) and shadow (umbrosa). This name fits Ei's past as a shadow of the original Electro Archon, Makoto.

Likewise with Nahida who is the replacement Dendro Archon Rukkhadevata has a constellation called Sapientia Oromasdis which does not have the word “Dei” after the name.

Beelzebub Is Not Baal

Makoto and Ei (source: Hoyolab)

Each Archon in Genshin Impact usually has 3 names, namely: the Archon's name, an honorary title from the community, and the Archon's personal name.

For example character zhongli who is a Geo Archon has the name Archon Morax, the title Rex Lapis, and the personal name Zhongli.

Raiden Shogun, as we know, has the real name Ei, where Raiden Shogun is an honorific title used by the people of Inazuma to call Electro Archon.

However, Ei's Archon name is Beelzebub, not Baal. Baal is the name of the Archon owned by Ei's deceased twin brother, Makoto.

The title Raiden Shogun is intended for the two twin Archons so Ei does not have a different title from Makoto.

Ei used to act more as Makoto's shadow so not many people know that Ei and Makoto are two different characters. Only after Makoto died, Ei filled the position of Raiden Shogun.

Having No Vision

3D Character Design (source: Lumie)

Raiden Shogun is included in the Archon category who does not have vision or is seen using Vision as an attribute on their clothing.

Usually Genshin Impact characters who can use elements are characters who use Vision. The illuminated Vision sign is one of the distinctive details of this open world game.

Of the Archon designs that have been released, only Venti and Zhongli have false visions in their character designs. This is because Venti and Zhongli hide their identities as Archons and live as humans.

However, Raiden Shogun does not hide his identity and is still actively leading Inazuma. So if you pay attention, Raiden Shogun doesn't have detailed vision on his body like other characters.

Archons have another characteristic, namely that the color of their hair will glow when they use elemental abilities.

When Raiden Shogun uses elemental abilities, the character's braided hair will be purple because of the Electro element which is symbolized by the color purple.

“Mother” of Scaramouche or Wanderer

Wanderer (source: Genshin Impact)

This fact is discussed implicitly in one of the Inazuma artifact sets, namely the Husk of Opulent Dreams, and in various Archon Quest Inazuma and Archon Quest Sumeru epilogues.

In general, this set of artifacts tells the past of Scaramouche or Wanderer, who is a puppet created by Ei. Until it was finally released because it was deemed unsuitable and the current Raiden Shogun puppet was created.

This character, formerly known as Kunikuzushi, was created to replace the deceased Makoto as Raiden Shogun and also as a 'container' for Gnosis when Ei maintains immortality in the Plane of Euthymia.

Wanderer himself calls Ei both a creator and a mother. The downside is that Wanderer is based on Makoto, who has a gentle character.

Ei thinks Wanderer will not be able to carry out his duties because he is considered too fragile to be a vessel for Gnosis.

Wanderer was then locked up in Shakkei Pavilion because Ei couldn't bear to kill Wanderer but also didn't want to hurt him facing the burden of being an Archon.

Finally, Wanderer was released, but this also made Wanderer feel abandoned by Ei. This also makes Wanderer very obsessed with Gnosis because he considers Gnosis to be similar to the human heart.

Has a tattoo on the neck

Wanderer and Raiden Shogun Tattoos (source: VCGamers)

The last fact that is rarely noticed is the tattoo on the back of Raiden Shogun's neck. This tattoo is shaped like the Electro symbol and is purple.

In a few cutscene game, Genshin Impact often depicts each Archon as having tattoos on several parts of the body.

For example, Geo Archon is depicted as having a tattoo on his arm, Anemo Archon on his stomach, and others.

Speculation is possible that this tattoo is an elemental birthmark for the Archon and his creation.

This is because the same mark is also found on the back of Wanderer's neck when you use Elemental Skills on this character.
