Eiichiro Oda is a Japanese manga artist who was born in Kumamoto, Japan on January 1, 1975. Yes, this manga artist will have his birthday tomorrow.
At just 4 years old, he made the decision to become a manga artist to avoid real work.
Eiichiro Oda is famous as the creator of One Piece, which is the best-selling manga series in history. Thanks to this work, Oda received the title as one of the best-selling fiction authors.
His interest in pirates probably started to emerge after Oda watched the popular animated TV series entitled "Vicky the Viking".
One of Oda's inspirations for becoming a manga artist was Akira Toriyama, who is also known for his work, Dragon Ball.
Since November 7 2004, Oda has been officially married to Chiaki Inaba, who is a former model and actress. The two met at the end of 2003 at the Jump Festa 2004 festival.

When he was 17 years old, Oda first made "Wanted!" and managed to win several awards including placing second in the Tezuka Award.
He then got a job at Weekly Shonen Jump magazine as Shinobu Kaitani's assistant for the manga "Suizan Police Gang".
At the age of 19, Oda began working as an assistant to mangaka Nobuhiro Watsuki for "Rurouni Kenshin" before winning the Hop Step Award for new mangaka.
During this time, Oda drew stories one shot with a pirate theme entitled "Romance Dawn" with the character Luffy. The story was published by Akamaru Jump and Weekly Shonen Jump in late 1996.
In 1997, One Piece debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump and sold 100 million copies as of February 2005.
This number of sales continues to increase drastically until it reached 450 million copies in March 2019.
With this extraordinary achievement, Oda's One Piece manga is crowned as the best-selling manga of all time.
