Profile of Angrboda God of War: Ragnarok, Let's Take a Peek!

Angrboda is one of the characters in the game made by Santa Monica Studios, namely God of War: Ragnarok. Games released for video game consoles PS4 and PS5 in November 2022 is sequel from God of War (2018).

Kratos and Atreus must journey through each of the Nine Realms in search of answers while the Asgardian forces prepare for the battle that will end the world.

Along the way, they will explore an impressive mystical world and encounter fearsome foes in the form of Norse gods and monsters.

They also meet various characters such as Angrboda who will become Loki's partner in the future. Come on, see the full profile below!

Angrboda profile

Angrboda comes from the Frost Giant (Jötunn) race who lives in Ironwood, The Forest of The Giants. This character was first seen in triptych the first Jörmungandr Temple in the game God of War (2008).

Angrboda was a short, thin, beautiful girl with brown skin and eyes and black dreadlocks tied in an intricate pattern.

This character wears blue and gray tattered hangers combined with red beads. He also has gold tattoos along his neck, forehead and chin.

In Norse mythology, Angrboda is said to live in Ironwood and raise wolves as his children. Her appearance is quite sketchy as all the women in Ironwood are depicted as some combination of Jötnar, witches or trolls.

Angrboda and Atreus meeting

This character appears directly in God of War: Ragnarok as a mysterious voice that calls out to Atreus when he is having a dream about Ironwood.

After being transferred by Utgard to a sanctuary, Atreus entered the forest with several tame wolves following him.

Atreus then finds a painting of himself drawing a knife towards a kneeling girl with a brush in her hand.

While Atreus was looking at the painting, a girl appeared and startled him. On reflex, he drew the knife towards the girl. Exactly like the painting.

The girl introduces herself as Angrboda, a Jötunn who is the same age as Atreus.

Their first meeting was quite awkward but sweet as Angborda secretly admired Atreus who looked stranger than he imagined.

He then helped guide Atreus out of the forest and told Atreus that he had been waiting for him the whole time to fulfill his destiny in the great prophecy of Ragnarok. Namely telling Atreus' destiny as Loki.

They both then travel to Angrboda's house. There Atreus was shown three large stones wrapped in a blanket.

The three stones show his journey with Kratos, including the unavoidable fate of Kratos and Ragnarok's death.

Feeling overwhelmed and terrified, Atreus couldn't control his emotions. He turned into a golden wolf and tried to attack the painting.

Angrboda tried to calm him down, bringing Atreus back to normal. He then volunteered to teach Atreus various skills and abilities to face his destiny as Loki.

Strength and Skills

As a Jötunn, it's no wonder that Angrboda possesses a variety of formidable powers and skills. Here are the strengths and skills it has:

• Precognition, is the power where Angrboda can see the future like the giants in general. This includes the time he saw Atreus going to meet him at Ironwood.
• Jötunn Physiology, is the ability to increase all standard attributes such as strength, stamina, agility, and longevity.
• Giant Magic, the ancient magical power of the giants that Angrboda called Giants Stuff. Her magical powers take the form of the paint she throws across the battlefield in beautiful arrays of purple, yellow, blue, and red.
• Casting Spells, is the skill of using spells with just one word or hand movement.
• Expert Riders, namely driving skills. He is often seen riding Jalla through the waters in Ironwood
• Animal Handling, it was Angrboda's specialty to handle animals easily and make them comfortable with it. As the game is about to end, Angrboda is seen babysitting Fenrir on Atreus' orders.
