Among the many social networking services today, Pinterest is one to watch out for. Apparently, Pinterest was created by three people at once.

Founded in 2010, Pinterest is a social network that offers a unique concept and differentiates itself from other similar services.

In this red color application, users can freely collect and share photos without any restrictions. Photos shared are not limited to the photos you upload, but include photos from other users and some pages.

If Facebook and Twitter are preferred because users can publish short statuses via text and short posts, on Pinterest shared snapshots in pictures are called Pins and the best collections are called Boards.

In simple terms, you can call Pinterest a more complex and widespread version of Instagram or a bulletin board virtual.

Pinterest was created by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra and Evan Sharp. Development first started in December 2009, and about a year later (March 2010), the app entered a closed beta phase, where use was limited to a select group.

In the ninth month after launch, the app has 10,000 users. Growing fast, Ben then introduced an iOS based app in March 2011 which effectively increased the popularity of this app among the Facebook greats.

But in April 2012, the app officially removed the invite system for new members and welcomed millions of people waiting to register.

In a short time, the number of users increased, as a result, according to Experian Hitwise, in the same year, this application was ranked third behind Facebook and Twitter as the largest social network in the United States.
