Persona 3 Reload Strategy: Defeating the Reaper
Without much ado, let's get straight to the main discussion, namely the strategy to defeat the Reaper Personas 3 Reload. Here we will also explain in detail how to find and defeat this mob.
Reaper in P3R
To be able to open access to Reaper, Vicigers must first complete the storyline progression until 6/14 on the calendar. Only after that date will Reaper be accessible.
To do this, enter Tartarus and climb to the 62nd floor. Later, Fuuka will remind the party that Reapers are roaming there and looking for intruders like them.
Hang around on the floor for approximately 3 minutes. A sign that the Reaper is coming is when Fuuka warns the party that a strong enemy is coming.
Another sign that can also be used as a benchmark is the presence of a fairly large enemy indicator visible on the map, accompanied by the presence of reddish smoke like Fuuka's jamming effect.
Closed rooms will immediately open when the Reaper appears on the floor. From that moment on, the mob will continue to chase the party across the floor!
The only way to escape from battle is to use Trafuri or His gem. However, this does not eliminate the mob: the Reaper will still appear and return to chase the party again.
There will be a short cinematic/cut scene from Fuuka that reminds the party when the Reaper follows them to the next floor or when the Reaper enters through the gate and starts shooting!
Ways that can be used to stop the chase are by:
- Avoid the Reapers and manage not to get caught after a few floors;
- The party managed to reach the Gatekeeper and the Border floor;
- When using a teleporter to move to a different location;
- (Only applies if the Reaper appears on the same floor as the Monad Door) Exiting and entering the Monad Door will make the Reaper disappear and prevent it from appearing until the next floor.
Tips for Defeating Reaper in P3R
Now let's get to the tips and how to defeat the Reaper Vicigers. Make sure you follow these tips so you can easily defeat the Reaper and take the loot!
- So that the damage from the Reaper will not be too imbalanced, make sure that your party has a minimum level of 85 for each character;
- In the first round of battle, Reaper will start first and perform 4 actions in 1 turn. Next, he will perform 2 actions in 1 turn;
- Pay attention to the following Reaper moves and be careful: Megidolaon (can instantly kill), Vile Assault (targets the party's weakness), as well as the combo Dekaja, Heat Riser, Concentrate, and Charge;
- Reaper does not have a weakness/string attribute for certain elements, so any elemental move will always be effective. Also prioritize critical physical attacks;
- Prepare anti-instant death items, such as Homonculi. Prioritize buffs and debuffs, especially in terms of defense, rather than dealing damage to the party;
- Even though Reaper can use all elements, this mob more often uses Dark elements. Not only that, these moves are also cast randomly (not targeting party characters who have the relevant weakness). That way there is an opportunity at every turn to turn things around;
- Make sure you maximize the use of Theurgies. This can be a good asset in battle. If you have maximized the Star Social Link and got Helel, combine it with Satan to produce the strongest spell in the game: Armageddon! With one cast, it can deal 9999 HP of damage to any enemy. The best way to instantly kill Reaper!
