Parrot Minecraft is one of 8 monsters that players can tame in Minecraft. For that, you have to know how to find and tame them.
The Minecraft parrot is a rare tamable monster that can perch on the player's shoulder and mimic the sounds of nearby enemy monsters. They are a bit hard to find and some players don't even know that parrots exist.
These birds are a harmless mob which means they are passive. They just flew around trying to avoid getting hurt if they were attacked by players. Players can find these monsters in cyan, blue, green, red, and even gray.
These mobs will drop feathers when they are killed, and they are pretty easy to beat. It only took a stroke or two of the sword to kill them, and what made it easier was that they didn't strike back.
In this article, VCGamers will show you how to find and tame a parrot in Minecraft 1.19.
How to Find a Minecraft Parrot
Parrots naturally lay their eggs in biome forest and bamboo forest. Their spawn chance is very low but only 0.2.
Additionally, they can only be found at Y-level 70 or above, in groups of 1-2. Therefore, if the player wants to collect all the colors of the parrot, it may take a while. They lay their eggs only in logs, leaves and grass.
Apart from looking around manually, players can use forest seeds or activate cheats and use the /locate command.
Alternatively, you can take a seed number and use some online biome finder tools such as chunk base.
Minecraft jungle biomes contains many rare monsters in the game such as panda, witch, ocelot and parrot. There will also be mobs of enemies here, so players need to stay alert when looking for parrots.
Forests usually spawn next to the mega taiga biome, but it's not always guaranteed that they will. Most of the time, however, they do, so if the player encounters a mega taiga biome, be wary of the jungle biome nearby.
How to Tame a Parrot in Minecraft 1.19
Parrots can be tamed by feeding them wheat germ seeds, melon seeds, pumpkin seeds, or beet seeds, with a 1/10 chance of success. Once tamed, interacting with the parrot makes it sit up and stand up.
Similar to tame wolves and cats, tame parrots follow the player unless told to sit down. They can also teleport if the distance between them and the player is too high.
Like all tamed animals, upon death, a message of death will be displayed to the owner. Feeding a parrot cake kills it instantly.
Uses of Parrots
Overall, these animals make great decorative mob pets, with the ability to fly and follow players.
They are also very colorful, players can have them sit in a certain place for decoration. Remember to name them with a nametag so they don't disappear.
Perched on the Shoulder
A player can have one parrot on each shoulder. A tamed parrot will try to fly up and land on the player's shoulder unless told to sit down. Players can also walk up to the tame parrot to place it on their shoulder.
