Wild Rift will soon implement a new legendary queue update in the game. This new game mode is similar to Ranked mode but is for solo players only and will not allow parties to queue together.

Wild Rift Legendary Queue will only be available to players who have reached Diamond rank and above. It will also feature a new rating that sets it apart from the regular Ranked Mode in the game.

Several Ranked Mode changes will also be implemented which will change the way players climb the competitive ladder. Diamonds and above will now implement a VP (victory points) marking system along with the addition of Fortitude Shields.

According to a blog post by Riot Games, the new ranked game mode will feature a solo-only queuing system. Players will not be able to party with other players in this competitive game mode unlike the regular Ranked Mode.

However, only players who are in Diamond and above the rank can unlock this new game mode.

Wild Rift Legendary Queue will have six main ranks with four sub-tiers to progress through. Players must earn enough Legendary Points to be promoted to the next rank or level.

These points can only be earned by winning matches in the Legendary Queue. The number of points a player earns will depend on their skill as well as their opponent's skill rating.

The new ranking system in the queue will have all the new ranks too. Each rank will have a five to one tier system besides Legend which is solo rank.

The lineup is:

  • Warriors VI-I
  • Commander VI-I
  • Guardian VI-I
  • Vanquisher VI-I
  • Immortal VI-I
  • Legend

Players who reach Legend rank will also receive a special global ranking on the overall leaderboard. In addition, players will have a separate matchmaking rating (MMR) in the queue. To clarify, this means the MMR of players in casual queues will not affect their legendary queues.

Players in the legendary queue will also only be placed against players one major rank above or below them. Obviously, a much better way to excel with less players.

Wild Rift Requirements

For players to enter the legendary queue, they must be in diamonds or higher. Of course, this means a lot of game time has to be put in to rise to high ranks.

This time it means those of you in this queue will play pro or at least be serious enough to want to be the best. Above all, this is what separates casual players from pro players.

The queue will only be a solo queue meaning those in the queue cannot pair up and join the game.

Along with the new competitive mode, some changes to Ranked games will also be implemented. The mark rating system will now be implemented up to Challenger.

This means that players no longer need to earn VP just to get promoted. Promotion from Diamond to Challenger will require players to earn six points for each tier.

Fortitude Shields will also apply outside of the Emerald rank. This allows players to earn points to protect their tokens if they lose a match.

Due to major changes to the Rating System in Wild Rifts, Riot Games stated that player ratings will be lowered a little further than usual in the next season. This decision was made to help smooth the transition to the updated lineup.

The first change that Riot has made is that the rank marks that ended in Emerald, they will now extend all the way to Challenger.

Once players reach Diamond, instead of gaining and losing Victory Points (VP) for wins and losses, they will now earn rank marks per win, as in Emerald and below, and lose one per each loss.

If players wish to progress from Diamond IV through Diamond I and onwards to Master, they must earn six tokens per each Diamond tier.

Fortitude and Fortitude Shields ratings will last up to Diamond and move up through Challenger, and Riot removes placement matches at the start of the ranking experience.

Riot also said it expects some ratings to roll back a bit further from the previous season once the season is rearranged.

That's all there is to know for now about the new legendary queue update for League of Legends Wild Rift that was recently revealed.
