How To Get Treasure Map In Minecraft

Treasure hunting players will likely need a treasure map on Minecraft to find it unless you are very lucky.

Introduced in Minecraft: Java Edition version 1.13, treasure maps in Minecraft play an important role in finding buried treasure in many ways.

You can still find hidden structures without an explorer's map, finding one-block-sized treasure chests among the vast amounts of sand in the ocean beach biome or the sea like finding a needle in a haystack.

However, with a treasure map, players are given important indications of where treasure is buried even if you don't know exactly.

Treasure Map Locations In Minecraft

The main structures Minecraft players will want to search for in search of treasure maps in Survival Mode are shipwrecks and underwater ruins.

Buried treasure maps are guaranteed to be found in certain treasure chests in shipwrecks while having a 41.7-45.3 percent chance of spawning in underwater wreckage chests depending on the size of the wreckage.

Both of these structures naturally spawn underwater as their name suggests, though occasionally generations of Minecraft will place them above ground.

Shipwrecks are generated in the following Minecraft biomes:

• All marine biomes 
• Beach biome 
• Snowy beach biome 
• Mushroom field beach biome (Rock Edition Only)
• All marine biomes regardless of temperature
• Beach biome

The shipwreck is immediately visible due to the shape and composition of the beams, mainly made of wooden beams. Underwater ruins can be a little more difficult to spot underwater, as they are composed of brick or sandstone, which may not stand out as much.

This is especially true in low light levels at deeper elevations while in the marine biome, which quickly gets very dark without a proper light source. However, once players find the structure, their search for loot chests begins.

Shipwrecks in Minecraft can spawn many different structured variants, and can carry a maximum of three loot crates.

Typically, the bow (front) of the ship will have one loot chest, while the stern (back) of the ship will yield two chests. However, depending on the variant, there may be less than three chests in total.

There are many factors that influence this, including the condition of the shipwreck and the circumstances it caused. If all three chests are available, one will be known as a map chest and will carry lots of paper, possibly some feathers, and a guaranteed treasure map.

Underwater ruins have a low (30 percent) chance of generating large underwater ruins and a greater (70 percent) chance of generating smaller ruins in Minecraft.

However, if the ruins appeared as a large variant, he had a 90 percent chance of spawning the surrounding small ruins in a group formation.

This increases the chances of finding loot chests rewarding players with buried treasure maps, as they are not guaranteed to be in underwater ruins.

Both resulting variants in particular contain no loot chests at all, but underwater ruins may be the only option if Minecraft players can't find the wreck.

The placement of treasure maps in Minecraft in underwater ruins is imprecise, mainly because ruins can be partially self-buried.

You should bring some diggers with you just in case, as the ruins are often inhabited by Mods. Underwater adventure is dangerous enough without being surprised by hostile mobs.

Once players have their treasure map, the real quest begins. Xs mark the spot, and players will want to fill out the map when they head to the dig site.

Treasure maps in Minecraft don't show exact coordinates in vanilla Minecraft, so keeping tools around to dig up areas where treasure is buried is a wise decision.

Understand the Map To Find Buried Treasure in Minecraft

Once you have a buried treasure map, be sure to place it in your active inventory, the bottom row in your inventory.

This way, it will be visible throughout the game and easily accessible. Then, scroll through it until the player completes it. Then can see it.
