When Will the Minecraft Movie Be Released?

The film has had several release dates, starting with Rob McElhenney's iteration of the film being dated May 24, 2019, but after his departure and then Peter Sollett's entry, the film's release date was marked as March 4, 2022, and this date was eventually removed from the release calendar. . 

Recently, Warner Bros. announced a new release date for this film, namely April 4, 2025.

The current plan is that this film will be available exclusively in cinemas in April 2025.

Who Stars in the Minecraft Movie?

In April 2022, it was announced that Jason Momoa would star in the film.

Then in May 2023, it was announced that What We Do in the Shadows star, Matt Berry, would also join Jason Momoa in this film, but his role was still kept secret. 

In November 2023, Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple) and Sebastian Eugene Hansen (Just Mercy) have also been added to the cast, with Brooks playing Dawn and Hansen playing Henry. 

Then in December 2023, it was announced that Emma Myers (Wednesday) had also joined.

And in January 2024, it was revealed that Jack Black would be joining the film, with rumors circulating that he would play "Steve," the game's most recognizable player avatar.

Who Made the Minecraft Movie?

Jared Hess, behind comedy favorites Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre, will direct the Minecraft film. 

Momoa, Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Torfi Frans Olafsson, Vu Bui, and the late Jill Messick will produce this film.
