The cards in Master Duel are different from those in the physical YuGiOh cards. Therefore, there needs to be a separate tire list so that the game remains balanced. Even though they are different, the basic rules for the Master Duel banlist are similar to the regular YuGiOh banlist.

There are three levels of "banned" that can be applied to a card:

  • Forbidden: Cannot be used at all, whether on the Main Deck, Extra Deck, or Side Deck.
  • Limited: You can only have one card in the Main Deck, Extra Deck and Side Deck.
  • Semi-Limited: A maximum of two cards in the Main Deck, Extra Deck and Side Deck are combined.

So, if a card is not on the banlist, it means its status is Unlimited. That means the card is free to use!

You can have up to three of these cards in your entire deck, including the Main Deck, Extra Deck, and Side Deck. But, remember, follow the standard rules for making it Yu-Gi-Oh decks! to be fair.
