How to Change the Terrain on the Dota 2 Map

You can easily change the terrain in the Dota 2 map. You do this by changing it in the Terrain menu.

In Dota 2, terrain items modify the graphical landscape of the Dota 2 map, including textures, trees, creatures, and more. 

Playing on different terrain from time to time can help break the boredom of playing on the same Dota 2 map over and over again. 

Four season terrains are available through a Dota Plus subscription and, as the name suggests, each is available for three months of the year.

Desert Terrain, Immortal Gardens, Sanctums of the Divine, Reef's Edge, Emerald Abyss, and Overgrown Empire, these terrains were all gifts Battle Pass from TI5 to TI9 respectively.

That leaves The King's New Journey the only terrain that players can purchase from Dota 2's in-game shop or community marketplace. Steam.

Players can switch between terrains via the Dota 2 in-game menu. To enter the terrain section, you must first select the 'Heroes' tab at the top of the Dota 2 main menu. 

Under the heroes tab, there is a 'Global Items' tab. Players will find four sections after clicking on the Global Items tab – Couriers & Wards, World, Interface, and Audio. The 'Terrain' menu can be accessed from the World tab.

From this 'Terrain' section, Dota 2 players can equip the terrain from what you have. The 'terrain demo' feature can also be accessed after selecting a specific terrain. Players can also choose to place multiple terrains into the random function.

Playing on a different field from Dota 2 has the potential to reduce fatigue because playing on a Dota 2 map that looks the same over and over again. Different weather effects, creep models, tower styles and broadcaster packs can also be used to combat monotony.

In terms of performance, Desert Terrain, Immortal Gardens and the default terrain have topped the FPS benchmark charts for years. Performance may be one of the important metrics in choosing one terrain over another, especially considering that Dota 2 is a competitive game.

The long awaited patch 7.32 is finally online in DOTA 2, bringing a number of new additions, tweaks, and changes to MOBA gameplay mechanics. There are new neutral items, hero abilities, map tweaks, and much more for players to play around with.

The DOTA 2 7.32 patch is an important checkpoint as this is the overall patch that professional teams will be playing at the upcoming The International 2022.

For now, players in ESL One DOTA 2 Malaysia 2022 will have to adapt to the new patch quickly.

The DOTA 2 hero update, along with all the patch notes, can be found on the game's official website.

Valve also provided a release date for when players can expect to receive the 2022 Battle Pass in DOTA 2. The Battle Pass was released on September 1, 2022.
