Knockout System in M6 Playoffs
Actually, there are not many new things that Moonton (as the developer) shows in the M6 playoff scheme this time. The same system has also been seen in many other matches, both regionally and internationally.
If we look at the previous M-World Championship event (M5), the only difference in the playoff system is only seen in the Upper Bracket Quarter Finals (UBQF) scheme which carries Best of 5 (Bo5).
Meanwhile, in the M6 playoffs this time, the UBQF round scheme carries Bo3. It is not clear what Moonton's motive is for 'shortening' the playoff round by inserting the system in matches like this.
But it is likely that this can be permanent and become the new standard. It is not surprising that regional leagues (MPL) will also use the Bo3 scheme, especially in the UBQF playoff round.
M6 Playoff Highlights Day 3 (December 10, 2024)
Now let's go straight to the main discussion, namely the playoff highlights. M6 Knockout Stage Day 3 is Tuesday, December 10, 2024. There are two 'minor' matches taking place on that day.
Each match brings together two teams, and none of the four are 'big' management. So, it's natural that in the end many of them Vicigers who are also lazy to watch this match.
For those of you who watch without using wifi, you must feel sorry for your internet quota. Well, so that you can stay updated with M6 developments without having to 'leak' your quota, here is a detailed summary:
LBR1 Match 1: Selangor Red Giants (SRG) vs. NIP Flash (NPFL)
The host country's representative team was able to prove its prowess against the NPFL. As one of the 'dark horse' teams, they were quite capable of taking advantage of the advantage of playing at home.
Of the five matches scheduled for the match, they want to quickly send the NPFL back to its home country: sweeping the first three matches without giving them a chance to reply!
This match is proof that their crushing defeat against FNOP yesterday was not due to a lack of playing quality, but rather because the 'Filipino Yellow Porcupine' was simply too good.
LBR1 Match 2: Team Vamos (VMS) vs. Team Spirit (TS)
The second match saw the last chance to compete in M6 for the two 'surprise' teams that were only founded in 2024: VMS vs. TS. Once again, both teams failed to maximize their playing time.
Although initially both teams looked balanced and responded to each other, VMS as the host was unable to take advantage of the momentum of their home position as well as SRG (previous match) who were also representatives of the 'Negeri Jeran'.
As a result, in the 4th match, VMS had to admit defeat after TS showed the results of the harshness of the Russian winter: a comeback and closing the match with a score of 3-1.
