Some of these are related to pre-existing Minecraft update features that were included with previous updates.

The Minecraft 1.20 update is one of the biggest snapshots for Java Edition. Since Mojang has taken a different approach to reveal all the features in installments, the player base is consistently surprised almost every month.

New Features in Minecraft 1.20 Update

Right after releasing the new Bedrock beta, Mojang published the first Minecraft 1.20 snapshot for Java Edition players.

This trailer is packed with great content, including a huge amount of pottery shards, the much-anticipated Sniffer's egg, new structures, and compatibility features for sculk sensors and amethyst blocks.

Here are some of the features and changes added with the latest snapshot in 1.20 that you should know about.

The calibrated sculk sensor is a new variant of the regular sculk sensor. It can only be obtained by crafting the regular version with three amethyst shards.

You can basically change the activation level of this block based on the frequency of the sound. When a redstone enabled block is placed nearby and sends a redstone signal, only certain signal levels will be detected by the new block.

Sniffer eggs have finally been added to the Minecraft 1.20 update. Ha this is a new ancient mob that will be added with the next update.

However, you have to find the eggs to get them out. These eggs can be found by brushing against suspicious sand in warm ocean debris or by breeding two adult sniffers.

These eggs usually take about 10 minutes to hatch if placed on a block of moss. Otherwise, they take about 20 minutes to hatch.

Sniffled no longer appears after breeding two Sniffers. Instead, the Sniffer's egg was dropped. Players can hatch this egg by placing it on a block and waiting for about 20 minutes.

However, placing it on moss takes half the time to hatch. Occasionally, the Sniffer may sniff out and dig up pitcher pod items, which the player can plant and harvest on farm land blocks.
