Here are the steps to enable the Cross Platform feature in Minecraft:

1. Open Minecraft on your desired device, you will be given the option to create a new account or load a previous game. Choose according to your needs.
2. After successfully logging in, go to the pause menu on the device you are using.
3. Select the "menu"Invite to Game” which is located on the right side of the screen.
4. A pop up will appear and display a list of friends who are currently active and can be invited to your world.
5. Scroll down until you find the menu "Online Cross-Platform Friends” and select the username of the friend you want to invite. They will later receive an invitation to join.

If you want to play games with someone who isn't already on your friends list, you'll need to request their ID Minecraft and send a friend request first.

Here's how to add friends in Minecraft by using ID or their gamertag:

1. Select the "menu"play“
2. Then look for the menu "Friends“
3. If you are not yet friends with the person you want to play Minecraft with, select the menu "Add Friends“
4. Enter your friend's gamertag in the column provided then press enter.
5. If their gamertag is correct, the account you are looking for will appear with two options, add the account as a friend or add them as a favorite.

If you add someone as a friend, you can send them a friend request and if accepted then you can send game invitations to each other.

Meanwhile, adding someone as a favorite will make them appear at the top of the list and you can see whether they are online or starting a broadcast.
