The debate between Apple and the government to sell iPhone 16 in Indonesia finally found a bright spot. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry finally issued a TKDN certificate with certain conditions.

Reasons Why iPhone 16 Doesn't Enter Indonesia
As we know, the iPhone 16 series has been released globally since September 2024. Unfortunately, in October 2024, the Ministry of Industry said that the iPhone 16 was banned from being distributed in Indonesia because it did not have a TKDN certificate.
After further investigation, it turned out that this happened because Apple had not fulfilled its investment commitment. Meanwhile, Apple had submitted several investment offers, but was rejected by the government because the figures did not match.
Since then, the government has asked Apple to immediately revise the proposal they made. Finally, the government approved the investment offered by Apple on Wednesday (26/2/2025) yesterday and the TKDN certificate for selling and buying the iPhone 16 will soon be issued.
When will the iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16e appear in the Indonesian market?
Although Apple has obtained a TKDN certificate to distribute the iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16e in Indonesia, they have not clearly confirmed when the latest iPhone series will enter the Indonesian market.
On the bright side, Apple fans now have a clear status. Where, they no longer have to go abroad to be able to taste the iPhone 16 series in the official version.
However, it is highly likely that the iPhone 16e and other series will enter the Indonesian market after Eid. This is reinforced by the Minister of Industry stating that administrative requirements can be started shortly after Apple obtains a publishing permit.
"In this case, all administrative requirements for the issuance of TKDN certificates have been prepared by Apple and will be processed by the Ministry of Industry through the National Industrial Information System or SIINas," he said.
