Interesting Facts about Gamabunta the Fierce Frog from Myoboku

Gamabunta is the main frog that lives on Mount Myoboku. He is an angry and stubborn frog who doesn't like being ordered by anyone. 

He just wants to be called by shinobi just as talented as Jiraiya, Minato, and Naruto. The three ninjas were people who received recognition from him.

Gamabunta Hates Sea Water 

Like frogs in the real world, Gamabunta is an animal that is used to living in fresh water. That's why he really hates sea water. 

Gambunta's hatred of sea water was proven in episodes 172 and 173. At that time Naruto overwhelmed to face Umibozu and was swallowed by the sea monster. 

Then Naruto called Kuchiyose and Gamabunta came. Actually, at that time the Myoboku frog was not happy having to fight in sea water.

However, because he was angry at the teasing Umibozu, finally he wanted to help Naruto and defeat the water monster. 

Because he was annoyed with Naruto's actions in calling him while in sea water, this fierce frog then scolded Naruto while throwing him into the air as a form of punishment.

Gamabunta Considers Jiraiya a Friend

Gamabunta doesn't always dare to fight

This frog is very strong, but he doesn't always have the courage to fight. This does not mean he is timid, he calculates in detail how strong the enemy he will face is.

The name Gamabunta is inspired by a Japanese actor

Originally Gamabunta was Jiraiya's Kuchiyose frog. However, because he considers Naruto a talented child, sometimes he also wants to be called upon to help Naruto. 

Not only his appearance, speaking style and character are similar to a Yakuza gang member. The name Gamabunta was also inspired by a Japanese actor named Bunta Sugawara. 

Bunta Sugawara is a Japanese actor who often stars in films about Yakuza. The Yakuza films he has starred in include: Gendai Yakuza: Yotamono Jingi, Yakuza Law and many others.

Gamabunta is very old
