Aki Hayakawa is a member of the Public Security Demon Hunters in the series Chainsaw Man.

Has Siblings

In a flashback of Aki's past, we are introduced to Aki's sibling, Taiyo Hayakawa. Taiyo has a face similar to Aki.

In the flashback, it is also known that Taiyo often experiences health problems, so his parents are always by his side to take care of him. 

Aki lost his brother in just the blink of an eye. At that time he was resting after playing snowball throwing, and then told Taiyo to go back to the house to get his gloves, so he wouldn't catch a cold. 

When he was in the house, the house was suddenly destroyed without any remains and left Taiyo and Aki's parents dead.

Her Name Has a Heartbreaking Meaning

Aki's first name comes from the abbreviation "AK" in weapons like AK-47, to show how truly his fate is tied to Gun Devil. 

Not only does Aki bond with Gun Devil due to her childhood trauma and journey for revenge, but the hidden meaning behind her name refers to her eventual transformation at the end of Makima's arc.

Aki's last name, Hayakawa can be separated into two words, namely "haya" which means already, now, fast, or early, and "kawa" which means river or flow. 

This most likely refers to his ever-shortening lifespan which stems from his contract with Curse Devil and also his interactions with Angel.

He Sees Denji as a Brother Figure

Even though in the early stages of their friendship there were many difficulties, in the end Denji and Aki had chemistry.
