Indonesia became the overall champion IESF World Esports Championship 2022. This was confirmed after Indonesia won a number of esports branches that competed in the tournament.

Indonesia became the overall champion because it won three gold medals for DOTA 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and eFootball.

Not only gold, the Indonesian Timas also bagged a bronze medal from CS: GO Women.

The Indonesian Esports National Team succeeded in becoming the overall champion in the 14th IESF WEC event in Bali. This is certainly an achievement to be proud of.

The hard work and efforts put in by the pro players and all parts of the National Team paid off for the cooperation that was carried out.

The Daily Chairperson of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PB ESI), Bambang Sunarwibowo, appreciated the achievements of the Indonesian National Team.

"What the National Team has achieved is thanks to unyielding hard work, discipline and perseverance in preparing to present the best performance for the nation and the country," he said in a written statement received by VCGamers News.

Bambang stated that this achievement was an inspiration for Indonesian esports activists. So, can practice and achieve achievements in the future.

"This is inspiration and at the same time motivation from the world of esports in the country for all the nation's children to have the same passion in achieving the highest achievements in the field they are engaged in," he said.

He is also grateful for the success of holding the Indonesia Esports Summit 2022 in Bali, Indonesia.

"Through this event, we hope that the wider community, the world of education, and various industrial sectors will better understand the true face and potential of esports," he said.

Indonesia Wins Three Gold and One Bronze

The Indonesian Esports National Team won three gold and one bronze in the IESF WEC 2022.

The three golds were obtained from three different games. Each is one gold for the Indonesian DOTA 2 National Team, one gold for the Indonesian MLBB National Team, and another for eFootball.

Indonesian DOTA 2 National Team who were sent to compete in the 2022 IESF WEC consisted of Randy “Dreamocel” Muhammad Sapoetra, Rafli “Mikoto” Fathurrahman, Syaid “Womy” Muhammad Resky, Tri “Jhocam“ Kuncoro, Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon, and Brizio “Hyde” Adiputra Budiana.

They won gold after winning dramatically in a match against the Philippines Dota 2 National Team. They also managed to win with a score of 3-2 in that match. Not only that, good play also made one roster become MVP, namely Rafli “Mikoto” Fathurrahman.

Indonesia then returned to adding gold from Ega Cahya Putra's eFootball playing skills. Where, Ega Cahya Putra succeeded in donating the second gold for Indonesia.

Furthermore, the third gold is given from the Mobile Legends branch: Bang Bang. Where, the Indonesian MLBB National Team also won the Grand Final match.

Furthermore, Indonesian CS:GO Women National Team also won a bronze medal.

The holding of the Indonesia Esports Summit 2022 also resulted in three MURI records at once.

  3. Most Offline Esports Matches in One Day (164 Matches)
