PUBGM at PON XX Papua? DKI Jakarta Wins Gold!

Hola Vicigers! The National Sports Week or abbreviated as PON XX is the main national sports event. This year PON has entered its 20th year which will be held in Papua. PON XX will take place from 2 October to 15 October 2021.

To host the PON this time, Papua managed to beat Bali and Aceh. In voting at the KONI (Indonesian National Sports Committee) Annual Member Meeting, Papua received the most votes, namely 66 votes.

PON XX 2021 will be held at the Lukas Enembe stadium. This stadium is one of the largest capacity stadiums in the Pacific with an area of 13.7 hectares.

There are 56 sports that are competed in this XX PON. Previously KONI (Indonesian National Sports Committee) established 47 sports. However, after negotiations finally returned to the original amount.

There are also electronic sports but as exhibition branches. The branches of this exhibition include Free Fire, PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) 2021, Mobile Legends, PUBGM (PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds) and Lokapala.

The Head of the Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Assistant for Sports Industry and Promotion of the Ministry of Youth and Sports support the entry of PUBGM (PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile) into the PON XX 2021 esport exhibition.

Esports has been recognized as an achievement sport in Indonesia by the Ministry of Youth and Sport and KONI. This recognition was carried out at the 2020 central KONI (Indonesian National Sports Committee) National Working Meeting on 25-27 August 2020.

Qualification will be held 2 times and simultaneously in all provinces of Indonesia from 11 to 12 September 2021. Teams that pass the qualification round will compete in Pre-PON on 14-15 September 2021.

There will be 15 teams drawn from the Pre PON round and 1 team from Papua that will compete in the Grand Final round. The teams that won the gold, silver and bronze medals will be flown to Papua to present the medals.

2021 PON XX Registration Requirements

Before it is decided that there are several regional representatives throughout Indonesia, it would be better for us to know in advance that the minimum requirements when registration for XX PON is opened are as follows.

1. Indonesian citizen
2. Minimum 13 years old
3. Can show proof of domicile in accordance with the qualifications of the province followed
4. Each team member must reside in the same province
5. Agree to follow the PON Esports rules that have been provided

Standings results

The temporary standings which have been held for two days, starting from Thursday, September 23, 2021 to Friday, September 24, 2021, resulted in points earned from the sixteen provinces including the following:

2. West Papua: total points 127
3. North Sulawesi: total points 107
4. Papua: total points 103
5. Bangka Belitung Islands: total points 93
6. Bali : total points 93
7. South Kalimantan: total points 85
8. Central Java: total points 69
9. North Kalimantan: total points 65
10. North Maluku : total points 61
11. Bengkulu: total points 59
12. Maluku : total points 52
13. Banten : total points 50
14. Riau: total points 49
15. Jambi: total points 39
16. West Kalimantan: total points 16

So, it can be clearly concluded that the result of the PUBGM match at PON XX Papua 2021 was won by the highest point score of 130, namely DKI Jakarta.

The four representatives from DKI Jakata province who competed in this Exhibition Final included Made Bagas Pramudita, Jason, Ekarachman Jayanto, and Made Bagus Prabaswara.
