Roblox is an online gaming platform and tool for game development created by the Roblox Corporation. This allows users to create games and play games created by others. 

This article is a guide on how to make games on Roblox and other related topics that you should know about on this platform. 

The platform allows users to develop their own games that other users can play using their own engine, Roblox Studio. 

A Lua-derived language called Luau is used to create games (more commonly referred to by companies as “experiences”). 

You may create content that can be purchased through one-time purchases called “game passes” and microtransactions that can be made repeatedly and are referred to as “developer products” or “products”. So, how do you make a game on Roblox?

To make your own game, please follow these steps; 

  1. Click Create on the top bar of the website. 
  2. If it's not already highlighted, select Experience in the My Creations menu.
  3. Click Create New Experience.
  4. Choose template settings and options for your own creation. 
  5. Finally, click Create Experience. You can return to the previous Create page by doing this. 

If you want, you can share your game right away, or you can wait for it to finish working on it. Click the Edit button to the right of the new experience entry in the Experiences list to start building. 

You can create a new experience at any time, but it will not be available to other players until it is published using the “Make it a Public Experience” process.

Well, you can make your game public or only private. There are two methods that users can follow to make your Roblox game public or private.

You can follow method one as below;

  1. Click Create on the top bar of the website. 
  2. If it's not already highlighted, click Experience on the My Creations tab. 
  3. To switch between the two states, find the place you want to make public or private and click the gray or green symbol under the place title.

The second method is as follows;

  1. Go to your experience page.
  2. To access the experience settings menu, click on the three dots icon. 
  3. Choose whether you want to customize this place or this experience. 
  4. Regardless of what you chose in the previous step, click the Basic Settings tab in the resulting screen. If not already highlighted. 
  5. Choose between Public and Private under Privacy.

Any user will be able to observe and participate in the experience if it is public (green icon). Unless it's a group experience, in which case only you and the designated developer (with the necessary experience and rating edit permissions) can play the experience. 

Private (green symbol) will prevent anyone other than you from viewing or playing the experience. Please refer to the help article at Roblox for additional group experience details. 

According to Roblox Studio, all users are free to create as many experiences as they want, but each account is only allowed to have 200 publicly playable experiences available at any given moment. 

As many as 20 million games are created each year using Roblox Studio, the vast majority of which are made by kids. So, that's how to make a game on Roblox that you can follow.
