Blast Furnaces can form naturally in weapons makers' houses which you can find in any village. Not only in weapon making houses, they also usually appear in Trail Ruins.

This block can also be mined with any pickaxe. The duration of digging depends on the ax used. If using an ax without enchantment, the digging time is 17.5 seconds.

To speed up the mining process, you can use Enchantment gold which will shorten your digging time to 0.45 seconds.

Crafting Methods

Another way to get this block is to crafting. To make it, you only need three items. Here is the list:

  • Iron Ingots x5
  • Furnaces x1
  • Smooth Stone x3

You can find Iron Ingots in chests scattered in many locations such as Dungeon, Mineshaft, and Shipwreck.

You can also get Iron Ingots by placing the Block of Iron item in the middle crafting 3×3 menu.

Furnaces themselves can also be found in many places such as deserts and several savanna areas in weapons-making villages.

Furnaces can also form naturally in some houses in villages with snow tundra, snow taiga, and all igloo biomes.

Finally, the Smooth Stone item can be found with a chance of 20.8% from Mason's Chest which is usually found in villages.

You can also smelt Stone items with any fuel such as Overwold Planks and Coal to get Smooth Stone.

After you collect all the requested items, the next step is to open the menu crafting 3×3.

First, place the Furnace item in the middle slot followed by placing x3 Smooth Stone in the third row. The final step, you only need to place x5 Iron Ingots in the remaining slots.

Blast Furnace Function in Minecraft

The Blast Furnace apparently has many uses in Minecraft. The following is a description of its uses:

Melt Items

Blast Furnace is similar to a regular furnace, but can only smelt raw ore, equipment or armor made of iron, gold, and Chainmail.

This special stove is a rival to smokers which are often used to cook food so that it cooks more quickly.

Smelting equipment with this furnace will provide chunks of iron or gold from the respective materials.

When items and fuel are placed into the furnace, the block status will change to “Lit” and the item will be melted twice as fast as a regular furnace.

The fuel consumed by this furnace is also twice as much as a normal furnace, so the number of items smelted per fuel remains the same.

If there is a village that has a Blast Furnace that has not been claimed by anyone, residents of nearby villages who have not yet chosen a place to work will have the opportunity to change their job to become an armorer.
