Hogwarts Legacy: The Tale of Rowland Oakes Quest Guide

To start quests, head to the Transfiguration Courtyard located in The Astronomy Wing. Next, talk to Adelaide.

He will tell you about his concerns about his uncle, a metal merchant who may be involved in a shady deal with the Goblin group, Ranrok's Loyalists.

After talking to him, you can now start your quest. Here are the steps you need to take to complete this quest.

Starting the Search and Collecting Clues

To begin the quest, head to Jackdaw's Tomb Floo Flame and fly with a broomstick to where Rowland Oakes is camped.

Once you arrive, you'll see that it has been destroyed by Ranrok's Loyalists and Adelaide's uncle is nowhere to be seen.

There is a group of Goblins in this place, you can choose to face them directly or disable them with the Disillusionment spell.

Once you're done combing the camp, use the Revelio spell to find hidden clues. Eventually, you'll find Rowland Oakes's Journal and Rowland Oakes's Map showing the location of the treaty.

Solving Puzzles on the Map

Open Rowland Oakes's Map and you will see many markers on the map that you can follow to reach the location where Adelaide's uncle is being held hostage.

The quickest way to get there is to teleport to the Korrow Ruins Floo Flame. Enter the ruins after defeating a group of Goblins.

Another way to get to the treaty location is to summon a Broom and fly southwest from the camp. Continue following the river path until you see more ruins.

Saving Rowland Oakes

Once you arrive, defeat all enemies on sight and enter the Korrow Ruins. Continue following the tunnel until you reach a junction.

The left path will take you to a place with a locked level 1 door. Inside the room is a group of Goblins and a chest containing an item.

To continue the rescue mission directly, take the right path. Defeat all the Goblins and follow the path down. You will arrive at the room where Rowland Oakes is.

There will be a group of Goblins inside, defeat them all to be able to talk to Rowland. He will ask you to find his magic wand so the door can open.

Go back to the previous room by going up the stairs. Turn right and follow the path until you see a hallway leading to another room.

In that room, you will see a giant furnace. Use a fire-based spell like Incendio or Confringo to light it.

Once the furnace is lit, a door leading underground will open next to it. Go in there and defeat all the Goblins there.

Next, go to the room on the right to get Rowland Oakes' wand. Finally, go back to where Rowland is being held and give him his wand.

Once you have successfully freed him, Rowland will chat with you for a while before giving you 180 XP and the Necklace accessory.
