GPX Free Fire Division Officially Disbands Ahead of FFML Season 7

GPX Indonesia has various esports divisions, one of which is Free Fire. Division Free Fire named Achilles was born in 2021.

Unfortunately, GPX Achilles was forced to disband due to things that had not been officially announced. This time, VCGamers will discuss GPX Achilles, specifically regarding the roster and achievements that have been achieved so far before disbanding.

FFML Season 7 is currently undergoing a qualifying phase for the last three slots. However, several Free Fire teams had to undergo disbandment, one of which was GPX Achilles.

GPX Achilles officially disbanded its roster via an official Instagram post from @gpx.idn on December 22, 2022.

Through the Instagram post, they announced their disbandment with gratitude for all the awards and hard work of the roster.

The Free Fire division team originally came from Siren Esports. Not long after the team was formed, GPX made the decision to acquire in 2021.

During the formation of Achilles, the roster has fought together and won various extraordinary awards. Before discussing these awards and achievements, let's take a look at the Achilles roster below!

Prior to the disband, there were six active members who participated in this Free Fire division team. The active members are 18Deer, Rawww, Mikazu, Justeen, Wings, and also the trainer, namely Uncle.

Each player has their own role or duties. Uncle served as coach of the Achilles team, Mikazu as rusher, 18Deer as second rusher, Justeen as IGL (In-game Leader) and Granader, Wings as support, and finally Rawww as a substitute.

After the dissolution of the Free Fire division, the entire roster officially became free agents. Therefore, other Free Fire teams can recruit these players.

The reason for the dissolution of the Achilles roster is not yet known. The official statement from GPX is currently in the form of an Instagram post expressing gratitude towards the roster who currently serves as a free agent.

Before officially disbanding, the Achilles roster had various outstanding results and awards. One of these awards is to become second place in the 2021 Asia Championship.

They managed to get a prize of $50,000 USD or around Rp. 780 million. Of course, by winning 2nd place, they are not a Free Fire roster that can be underestimated.

After that, they won seventh place in the Free Fire Master League Season 6 Division 1 tournament. Getting seventh place resulted in a total prize pool of $17,706 USD or equivalent to Rp. 275 million.

Unfortunately, they cannot participate in the Free Fire Master League Season 7 Division 1 or FFML Season 7 qualifiers because they have to disband.

The first phase of the FFML Season 7 qualification itself will come on January 21, 2023. Currently, hundreds of Free Fire teams are undergoing open qualification to get a position in the first phase of the FFML S7 qualification.
