Official! God of War Ragnarok Will Release in Q3 2022

The official trailer for God of War Ragnarok has finally unveiled at PlayStation Showcase 2021. The trailer reveals the interactions between the older Atreus and his father Kratos. The familiar cast of characters along with the Norse gods Thor and Tyr make a return.

Why God OF War Delayed?

Sid Shuman, head of PlayStation Studios has explained that Santa Monica Studio needs more time before releasing God of War Ragnarok in a bid to "deliver the amazing God of War game we all want to play."

He also stated that “Developing a game that would follow in the footsteps of the God of War star would no doubt take a lot of time and polish. So we'd rather see the game delayed and perfected than rush."

God Of War Release Date

Initially teased in 2020, God of War is expected to launch in 2021 first. However, at the Sony PlayStation Showcase on September 9, 2021, developer Sony Santa Monica and publisher PlayStation Studios revealed that God of War Ragnarok has been delayed to 2022.
