In this world, dragons terrify humanity, triggering the emergence of hunters who kill dragons with Silverine weapons.

The two hunters in the Lese Kingdom are Leonica and her less skilled partner, Ragna, who functions more as her caretaker than hunter. Ragna believes he is cursed; Dragons seem to be attracted to him but he always survives while others die.

Ragna dreams about an old man who predicts Leonica's death. A group of dragons destroys Donapierru, a city famous for not having experienced a dragon attack for 10 years.

The group of dragons then attacked every city in the kingdom, including Leonica and Ragna's house in Ronabera City. The dragons are led by Grymwelte of Blood Wings, a Superior Dragon who serves the Dragon God.

Ragna recognizes Grymwelte as the predicted murderer of Leonica. Falling unconscious, Ragna falls asleep in a dream about the future where the old man is revealed to be his future self. Future-Ragna hates Ragna as a parasite who uses Leonica to cover up his inadequacies.

He reveals that in his grief, he trained beyond human endurance, and after 40 years discovered the power that gave his body Silverine properties, to kill dragons with the touch of his hand, but the power was worthless as it could not bring Leonica back.

But now he has a chance to make up for the past. He unites himself with Ragna, giving him his memories and powers.

Leonica confronts Grymwelte who reveals that the Dragon God protected Donapierru because the town had her favorite pastry shop, but when the business went out of business, the God ordered the entire Lese Kingdom to be destroyed.

Ragna awakens and with his new Silverine Battle Arts, Grymwelte is killed, saving Leonica. With Future-Ragna's memories, he felt relieved that he managed to save Leonica this time.

Future-Ragna and a mysterious God accept that it is now up to Ragna and Leonica to create a future free of dragons.

As Ragna recovers from his ordeal, the city is attacked by an army of trees, observed by a mysterious God who remembers that this is when he and Ragna first met.

Ragna (ラグナ Raguna) is the main protagonist and one of the title characters in Ragna Crimson, originally a very weak Dragon Hunter who follows the talented hunter, Leonica.

Not wanting to be a burden to her, Ragna secretly trains so that one day he can protect Leonica instead of always defending her.

However, during one of these training sessions, Ragna not only experiences a foreboding dream that tells him of a dragon attack that will lead to Leonica's death, but also gains strength from his future self having trained for years to defeat all the dragons.

Ragna is a boy with a slim and muscular body. His hair is silver and short, while his eyes are light blue.

At first, he wore a set of armor, but after acquiring the Silverine Martial Arts, he only wore light clothes and boots due to his fighting style, covered by a thick robe with a long neck. When fighting, he wears the robe around his waist.

Ragna is a man of weak willpower, following others and allowing himself to be bossed around. Because of his past, Ragna believes that he is cursed and that everything bad that happens to him is his fault for being too weak.

Another consequence of his past is the sickness he feels when around large groups of people, perhaps as a result of his attempts to avoid others to ensure they are not "cursed" by him.

Now, Ragna's sole purpose in life is to exterminate all the Dragons in the world without mercy. Although he does not believe that the ends justify the means, Ragna believes that anyone who follows him are simply people whose deaths he will not care about or people who cannot die at all.
