Synopsis of The Law Of Ueki
The story begins with the Battle of Supernatural Powers, a tournament to determine which Celestial (heavenly beings in the original Japanese version) will be the next King of the Celestial World (God in the Japanese version).
Each of the 100 King Candidates (God Candidates in the Japanese version) is required to select a junior high school student to act as their power user.
The student is given unique powers and told to eliminate as many enemies as possible. The winning King candidate will become the new King of the Celestial World, and the winning student will receive the Empty Talent (Black Zai in the Japanese version), a talent that can become anything they choose.
Although this gave rise to greedy and selfish thoughts in many students, Kosuke Ueki decided to take responsibility for winning this tournament so that the power would not fall into the hands of those who would abuse the prize.

Getting to know Ueki Kosuke
Ueki Kosuke (植木 耕助, Ueki Kōsuke) is the main character in the series. He is a student in Class 1-C at Hinokuni Middle School. Ueki's ability is to turn trash into trees, which was given to him by his King Candidate, Kobayashi (also known as "Mr. K"), who is also Ueki's class teacher.
His Level Two power allows him to nullify an opponent's attack by returning them to their original form. Later in the story, it is revealed that Ueki is a Celestial sent to Earth by his father to take part in this tournament, giving him access to the Sacred Weapon. Due to his strength, he can use more than one Sacred Weapon simultaneously.
The personality trait that most characterizes Ueki is a sense of justice (a recurring theme throughout the series); he really doesn't like seeing people being abused, tortured, or manipulated by others.
Although usually calm and not particularly concerned with what happens to him himself (often falling asleep in class, letting kids use him as target practice and a surfboard, and casually calling the police when confronted by a group of delinquent teenagers).
Ueki is a sincerely kind person and always tries to help others. In fact, his caring personality also extends to the environment (as often seen when planting trees and cleaning up trash in city parks) and his enemies (as when he saved Robert Haydn from falling debris).
According to a brief profile of the main character of “The Law of Ueki” (published at the end of the author's 16th manga volume), Ueki's hobbies include cleaning up his city.
Throughout the series, Ueki's main goal is to win tournaments and prevent Blank Talent from falling into the hands of those who would abuse it.
Later, he also set another goal to save the King Candidates (such as Mr. K, Inumaru, and Nero) who were unfairly sent to Hell. At the end of the series, Ueki finally wins the tournament and Blank Talent. This is because he is considered the strongest Celestial and Force User, the most advanced in terms of growth.
