This game focuses on Rally and Rally Cross races. Players will compete in a timed event on asphalt and offroad terrain in various weather conditions.
The Rallycross mode in this game is made with World Rallycross Supercars. Where they feature the lineup from the 2018 season and the 8 circuits of the FIA World Rallycross Championship.
Features a new modeling weather system that can change the weather. Players must use their driving instincts to drive well to make this game feel more natural.
The weather in this game also affects the visibility on the stage. The surface of the circuit can also degrade when many cars pass over it.
More than 100 layers ensure that the road surface will start to shift and break down, this will affect the driver's grip level.
Gameplay Dirt Rally 2.0 requires players to concentrate to the maximum. Especially since some stages take more than 10 minutes to complete.
There is no rewind function in this game and the damage done to the car is not only visible visually but also has a mechanical effect.
If the car experiences “terminal damage”, then the race will automatically stop no matter what type of race the car is participating in as a DNF.
The “My Team” mode that was introduced in Dirt 4 was developed so players have to hire technicians to maintain cars. Damage in races can carry over from 1 event to another.
However, other elements in this game such as liveries, sponsor signatures, and the expansion of racing team facilities have been removed.
Players can also make a wider choice of strategies such as compound tires. Softer tires offer better grip but wear them out more quickly.
Whereas harder tires last longer but produce longer stages. The game developer has finally introduced a tutorial for setting up a car for beginners.
