Wolfenstien tells the story of protagonist William “BJ” Blazkowicz in a fictional timeline where the N*zis won the second world war. The video game was the first to be developed by Machine Games after id Software sold the rights to the series to them. This game was released in May 2014 on PC, PS and Xbox.

The story begins with a branching narrative, with BJ having to choose one of his comrades to be sacrificed by a Nazi experimental scientist. After escaping from the predicament, BJ then goes on many missions to bring down the rule of the Nazis, finally crossing paths with the scientist once again towards the end of the game.

Here, the full ramifications of the player's initial choice emerge when the scientist reveals that he owns the brain of the partner the player has chosen to sacrifice, using it to power an armed mech. After defeating the robot, BJ finally laid his friend to rest.

The game was praised for its narrative and making the protagonist a likeable character, receiving many awards and nominations.

After the futuristic setting featured in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, developer Sledgehammer Games decided to bring the story back to a more grounded story.

They decided to continue with the game set during the Second World War, thus leading to Call of Duty WWII which was released on November 3, 2017 for PC, Xbox, and PS.

The video game follows the story in the European Theatre, with a group of soldiers from the 1st Infantry Division. Taking place primarily on the Western front, the game depicts the events of the Battle of Normandy.

Players control protagonist Ronald “Red” Daniels and his platoon as they take part in game events.

Apart from the story, the gameplay of this outing was also highly praised, due to its realistic feel. Health regeneration is non-existent, like most Call of Duty games, as players must rely on medpacks or medical teammates to help them heal.

Other squadmates in the platoon can also assist the player with multiple mechanics, such as supplying ammo and grenades, calling mortar attacks and spotting enemies to reveal their position.

Sniper Elite 5

The fifth entry in the Sniper Elite series, Sniper Elite 5 was developed by Rebellion Development and released for PC, Xbox Series X/One and PS5/4 on May 26, 2022.

Like its predecessor, this video game is also set in World War II, with returning protagonist Karl Faiburne showing off his skills as an elite sniper once again.

The events of this video game are set in 1944, when Karl is sent to France to take on the secret N*zi Project codenamed "Project Kraken". Like its predecessor, the game consists of multiple levels with a large map, where the player is sent to infiltrate, eliminate and extract each time.

The hallmark of the Sniper Elite series, the X-Ray kill camera, returns, which shows well-placed shots in slow motion, revealing the internal damage taken by the target via an X-ray view.

While the single-player campaign can be played alone or co-op, there's a new invasion mode that lets players appear as enemy snipers in the game. Multiplayer survival mode is also present.
