How to Make a Furnace Minecraft 2023

The furnace itself serves as a basic smelting and cooking device which players can use to turn mined ores such as iron and gold into ingots, cook food they collect from animals around the world, and much more. 

Here's a step-by-step guide to building a Minecraft furnace from the moment you start the game for the first time.

Materials and Methods of Making a Minecraft Furnace

The materials Vicigers will need to make this tool are a crafting table and 8 Cobblestones. The first step to making a crafting table is to turn the newly acquired logs into planks of wood. 

To craft a wood plank, simply place the collected logs into one of the slots in the survival survival inventory crafting table.

Once the logs have been turned into planks, you can continue building the crafting table. To create a crafting table, place four wooden planks in the survival crafting menu to fill each slot in the grid once.

In making this item, Vicigers had to make the simplest type of pickaxe to collect the first piece of cobblestone. 

The first part of making a pickaxe is making the stick for the hilt. You can use the survival inventory crafting table or the crafting table you just created to make sticks.

To make sticks, place two blocks of wooden planks on top of each other either on the left or right side of the square, as shown above.

Now you have to craft a pickaxe, this can be done by interacting with the crafting table. Next, on the crafting table, place a row of planks along the top of the crafting GUI and place two sticks under the middle plank, as seen above. 

This will create a pickaxe which is used to collect the boulder blocks needed to make the furnace.

To make a Minecraft furnace, place eight large pieces of rock around the outside of the crafting GUI, leaving an empty space in the center square.

Now just click on the Minecraft furnace to collect the blocks from the crafting table and drag them into own inventory. This item is now a block that can be placed and used.

How to Use the Furnace in Game

To use this item, right click the furnace, the same way you entered the crafting table, it will take you to the furnace GUI. 

After opening the GUI, fill the top leftmost chamber of the furnace with desired blocks or raw foodstuffs. This will allow it to cook after you add fuel.

In the space provided under the block or food item the Vicigers want, enter the fuel shape. This could be coal, charcoal, a bucket of lava, or anything made of wood. This will fill the furnace to cook the desired blocks or ingredients.

Now the Vicigers have to wait for the arrow to be fully charged. The arrow in the middle of the grates menu is an indicator to show how far the grates are in the cooking process.

This bar fills individually for each block and food item placed in the Minecraft furnace. Once this bar is completely full, it will reset. Then the blocks/food will be completely ready to be removed from the furnace for use.

Now that the object is fully cooked or smelted, you can now reap the rewards of smelting and put the block to good use. It's easy, right?

Also, this Furnace is not a block available to players in Minecraft as players have to create it as well using some basic in-game items.
