Smoker is a block in Minecraft which can melt food twice as fast as furnace but cannot melt other objects.

The smoker has several functions, the main function of which is as a tool that can cook food. Here are all the Smoker functions in Minecraft

Faster Cooking Equipment

Smokers are used to cook various food items more quickly than ordinary furnaces. This block is a part of the Blast Furnace.

If the Smoker is used for cooking, the Blast Furnace can smelt various steel materials, iron ore and armor.

When an item of food and fuel is placed into the Smoker, the block status will change to “LIT” and the item will be cooked.

Because this block cooks food faster, it uses twice as much fuel as a regular stove.

Items that have been processed can be picked up by pressing the "Use" button on the Smoker or picked up using the Hopper.

Even though it is used for cooking, there are some items that the Smoker cannot process. This item is Chorus Fruit.

Changing Villager Profession and As a Source of Light

Smoker can also change the profession of a Villager. This condition occurs if a village has a Smoker that is not claimed by a Villager.

Nearby villagers who have not yet chosen a job will have the opportunity to change their profession to become a butcher.

Apart from that, the Smoker can also produce light when activated like other normal furnaces, namely at level 13.

How to Make a Smoker in Minecraft

After knowing its function, now is the time to find out how to make a Smoker in Minecraft.

To make a Smoker you need 2 basic ingredients, namely a Furnace and various types of wood such as Acacia Wood and Jungle Wood.

After collecting everything, open the 3 x 3 crafting menu and place the Furnace in the middle slot. Next, fill the logs at the top, bottom, right and left of the Furnace.

Apart from making it manually, you can also get a Smoker at the Villager's house who has a profession as a butcher.

How to Change the Name and Lock the Smoker in Minecraft

By default, Smoker will be given the label "Smoker", but the name label can be changed according to the player's wishes.

If you want to change the Smoker name label, you can change it by using the /data command in this block.

Not only changing the name, you can also lock your Smoker by changing the Lock rule with the Command /data.

If the "Lock" tag of a Smoker is not empty, the Smoker cannot be opened unless you hold an item with the same name as the "Lock" tag.

For example, when locking the Smoker at (0,64,0) you must hold the item named “Smoker Key” and use Command /data merge block 0 64 0 {Lock:”Smoker Key”} to unlock it.
