Surely you already know that game Free Fire closed in India. It turns out that this is the reason. Will it be the same with Indonesia?

Free Fire is one of the most popular battle royale games in India and has managed to amass a huge fan base.

Content creation, streaming, and esports relevant to the title have experienced steady growth in recent years, making it a popular career choice for players.

However, since the declaration of a ban on free fire was closed by the Government, the gaming community is in a state of melancholy in the future. Moreover, due to lack of information, the players are looking for reasons behind the suspension.

The Reason Behind Free Fire Closed in India

The government of India issued a ban on Free Fire in 2021, on February 14th. Due to security concerns, they have banned more than 200 apps, such as PUBG Mobile, Tik Tok, PUBG Mobile Lite, and many more, in multiple ban waves over the past few years.

Reports have indicated that the popular game and 53 other apps have been suspended due to the same issue as in the previous incident. However, to the surprise of the gaming community, Free Fire MAX is not banned and is still available on the Google Play Store.

Several gamers were looking forward to Garena's official statement, and many were relieved when it came out:

“We are aware that Free Fire is currently unavailable on Google Play and the iOS app store in India and that the game is currently unavailable for some users in the country. We are working to resolve this situation, and we apologize to our users for the inconvenience."

That said, the statement doesn't explain the ban and only reveals the developer's response to the removal from the respective App Stores.

The worst fears of Free Fire players have come true. In a seemingly shocking turn of events, the Government of India has banned the famous battle royale title. It was included in the list of 54 apps that were blocked today.

It all started a few days ago, with login issues on February 12th, and then it continued with the game being recalled from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. However, the players had no official confirmation, which added to their discomfort.

This is not the first time that the Government of India has banned the app. In 2020, hundreds of other games and apps faced the ban hammer, including the beloved PUBG Mobile. However, the battle royale title is making a comeback in the country in a whole new form. A senior journalist confirmed the list of 54 applications.

Amitbhai stated the following as reported by sportkeeda.com when reacting to the ban implemented at Free Fire:

“If it has been banned by the Government, we must obey the rules set by them. Every action they take is for the betterment of the general public and as such must be followed.”

Meanwhile, another popular content creator, Lokesh Gamer, mentioned that the game was blocked but not banned in any of his videos.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the days ahead and what the future of play will be like in the country once free fire closes.

Surprisingly, the list does not include Free Fire closed, a visually enhanced version released in 2021 to better serve the audience with devices. Also, this edition is still available on Google Play Store but not on Apple App Store.

After this announcement, it remains to be seen how the gaming community will react. This is particularly relevant given that India is home to one of the largest demographics of Free Fire audiences globally, with Total Gaming being the most subscribed creator of gaming content worldwide.

In today's major development, the Indian government blocked 54 apps, including Garena's popular multiplayer title, Free Fire.

This sudden news shocked many people, especially the die-hard fans of the game. Before a list of banned apps even surfaced online, shooters BR Garena has been removed from the App Store and Google Play.

Temporary Free Fire MAX still available on the Play Store at the time of writing, its future in India looks in doubt.

The hugely successful Free Fire shutdown seems quite odd as the ban is expected to specifically target apps backed by Chinese companies that pose a potential threat to Indian security.

Both games were developed by 111dots Studio, a Southeast Asian indie game company, with Garena (Singapore) as the publisher. The beta version for the original game was released back in September 2017 and was very well received by the mobile gaming community.

Following the positive reception due to its mobile-compatible fast-paced BR gameplay, the game was released globally in December 2017. Since its original release, Garena's popular BR shooter game has grown tenfold, quickly becoming one of the most successful mobile games in India. .

Reportedly, the developer started developing the MAX version in 2020, with an Open Beta starting in September 2020. The developer finally launched an enhanced version of the multiplayer shooter in September 2021.
